I’ve been noticing this, too. Something I ordered this morning was prime eligible but won’t be here til Tuesday next week. I can pay extra for overnight shipping that’ll get it here Monday

It’s not out of stock or anything; they’ve just been tacking on extra processing days for a lot of things lately.

Yes they give you credit for the delays but just quit saying you gonna get it there in 2/3 days when you don't.

Our shipments arrive as scheduled. Amazon penalizes you if you ship late or the item arrives past the latest estimated arrival date. They will absolutely take away your selling ability if you don't meet the minimum standards.

Here's another tidbit. The branch managers at the USPS places receive a bonus based on Amazon deliveries. This is why you'll see a package shown as delivered and it doesn't show up till the next day. They'll scan them as delivered. Absolute crap.

Actually it's funny you brought this up. I was just thinking this morning how it seems Prime has dropped off. For quite a while it seemed two day shipping meant I would receive my items in two days. It still happens but more often it turns out to be three or four days for me. I'm too lazy to complain about it. I remember when I was a kid anything you ordered by mail (yes i'm old in my 50s) would always take the standard 6 to 8 weeks.

Yeah it’s more like same or 1 day for me.

Same. I order stuff on Friday or even Saturday evenings all the time and it's delivered to my door Sunday afternoon with a text of the item on my doorstep. I even get texts telling me my package is so many stops away from being delivered.

Must suck to live in a state without an Amazon distribution warehouse. Like living back in the past or something, right?

This, except in pretty rare occasions. When I'm in San Jose, it's always on time. Sometimes when I'm in Zachary, it takes an extra day every now and then.

IMO, in general, it has gotten worse. When it used to be the exception to get stuff more than 2 days out, it is now the exception to get stuff in 2 days.

2 days, to me, means I order by 5 PM on a Wednesday, I expect to get it Friday. Now, it's more like the next Tuesday.

ETA: On a random test, I just looked to buy, with Prime, headphones.
Estimated deliveries, if ordered now, were

6 on Sunday
3 on Tuesday
1 on Wednesday

Yes Amazon has gotten sloppy lately.

Five years ago they couldn't get away with it so easily because they were trying to attract people to Amazon Prime.

Nowadays they have a large subscriber base that they know isn't going anywhere, so they have little incentive to improve.

I'm THIS close to canceling Amazon Prime.

If it makes you feel better I ordered 2 items on Tuesday, one was prime and one wasn't. I got the prime item on Wednesday and the non prime item today.

bullshite. Don't even try and act like Amazon ships 100% of their product out as stated.

The only time it takes longer than two days for me is if I order on the weekend or late at night. If I place an order Monday before the end of the business day, I always get it Wednesday.

I just regular old free shipping'd a couple of books recently, got them in 3 or 4 days, they promised 8 days or some such.

I never need anything all that fast.

Where did I say that? I said "our" shipments ship out on time...everytime. I'm a third party seller on Amazon. I can show you the proof.

I've complained so much they will no longer give me anything in return.

We ordered items tonight before 5 PM they will not be here until Tuesday. Birmingham, AL.

I was told, it's 2 days from the shipping time, not the order time and they can't do anything about it.

I used to get everything 2 days from ordering.

So what does this little gem mean:

quote:

I sell on Amazon. No location in the US takes longer than 3 business days when shipped Priority. So, if you order today, it will ship tomorrow. The three business days start Saturday.

So you just said "No location in the US takes longer than 3 business days when shipped Priority."

But now it is that they ship out on time. haha ok, whatever you gotta tell yourself.

Do you see a difference in ordering something at 6:00AM on a Monday or 11:59PM on Monday night for an estimated* 2 day "Wednesday" delivery?

*remember once it leave the DC, its really out of Amazon hands and it's up to the carrier to get it their on time. aka..Stuff happens in transit.

Random question since you are a seller - why doesnt Amazon filter better? I hate shopping on there since it takes a long time to narrow my search down to what i'm looking for. I get there is some "better for the biz model not to reason" involved, but wondering as it seems to only go as far as 50% way if that. Like I dont care what "dept" it's in ie school vs office supplies.

Hope that makes sense. Heck if I just dont amazon well, and doing it wrong please tell me. Ha thx

I just let it expire. Wal-mart has competitive prices and free shipping, and you can return stuff to the store.

Their streaming is shite. I just find myself not ordering from Amazon anymore. And if I do, I can bundle things up to get the free (but slower) shipping anyway.

The Prime price increases haven't helped.
