On her radio show. She said gop down between 10-20 % with independent voters and this is huge.

That and just the natural historical trend. The party that controls the Presidency tends to lose seats in the midterm.
The "opposition" party always seems to be more motivated and that's what drives the midterm results.

It would be nice to see the polling so we could share that concern.
Here's the deal.
In 2016 polling outfits were polling likely voters. Seem reasonable until you realize Trump voters are not likely voters. They came out to vote for Trump when in previous elections they basically stayed home. This is not a huge percentage of the electorate but enough to make a difference.
Now will they come out to vote for the midterms? Are polling companies still discounting them?
We will just have to wait and see to fully answer those questions.

I have repeated this over and over here. I do not like what I am seeing either.
Please keep in mind, I was pointing out the polls in 2016 as wrong and flawed.

Earlier poster was correct about historical complacency by incumbent party during midterms.
Hope it’s not worse because the good guys have had a lot of “wins” this year so I hope folks stay motivated.

Independents in the right spots are what elections come down to.
The GOP could win 92-95% of republicans and it still wouldn't mean anything if they're underwater with independents paired up with a motivated democrat bloc.
That's why even when Trump and the GOP racked up some incredible wins in the past 18 months, they generic ballot never got too dangerously low for dems.
I really hope this changes because I would really like to see the Trump Presidency get more wins in Congress.

They feel the work is done. We got a President working his arse off and is making a huge difference.
1- People see it's great
2- and they think like 90% of the people in this thread. over confident and arrogant about what's happening. Reminds me of Hillary not going to certain states because she knew she would win.

That's right.
Now there is another thing at play too. People who supported Trump are pissed at some people who are refusing to get the job done.
Those people have gone for Trump candidates and are sitting down on the GOPE. That means those seats are at risk.

That is going to depend on if the GOPE (and they are not going to budge due to their money) moves to enact Trump's mandate.
Border wall being the top issue.
