I really dont want to live in a massive city but great career opportunity involve some form of compromise in life.
office would be in the 249 beltway 8 area

what areas would be tolerable for a morning commute. i would like to have an easy drive

Traffic is horrible in that area but lucky since you are an OT'r you will have funds to live elsewhere.

What's your budget and what do you have to have nearby? Family man, single etc.

Anywhere is Houston is way better than anywhere in Louisiana. If you get homesick hop on a cheap Southwest flight for 45 minutes to new orleans.

It's really not. I've lived near 249 for 5 years.

Your best bet for commute would be Tomball. Want more rural, then Magnolia. Family and schools, back side of Woodlands (orTomball). Younger, single crowd, inside 610 and mostly commute opposite direction of traffic

If you want closer to the city, Garden Oaks or Spring Branch neighborhoods

More suburb look at Tomball

Really anything around 99/249. If you want to live in the burbs you can find an affordable nice place with a very reasonable commute

I guess it's all relative. My commute from Katy area to Memorial City is pretty brutal depending on the day but I've always found Beltway 8 exit North to 249 past Katy pretty rough.

There are 3 large apartment complexes at 249 and Northpointe, which is about 8 miles up 249 from the Beltway.

All are decently priced, probably about $1000 or so for 1bd/ba

Nice areas in Cypress right there. Tomball is not too far. I live in The Woodlands and used to have a customer there and it was a 20-25 minute commute.

Currently one of the worst areas for rush hour traffic in the city. But it's a nice area in general, even though Willowbrook Mall has started to look very "urban". Head north on 249 towards Tomball for good neighborhoods.
