the only thing keeping me from buying one in the basin is my two dogs. when they go i want a house boat. saw one that was pretty new the other day for about 35k. i think it was around 800 square ft living with two decent sized porches.

I could do a nice motor home if it were just me and my wife. House boats are cool but they don't mix well with alcoholism.

If I was fully single after graduation, I would have strongly considered an old sportfisher to live on. But was in a serious relationship and once I built up savings, an engagement was on the horizon. Wife was not so keen on the idea.

I have done a lot of research on RV’s.

I discovered I could buy a blue watering sailing catamaran for about the same money.

I wouldn’t want to live it on it permanently, but could easily spend a couple years circling the globe.

Hell yeah. Stayed on a houseboat in Apalachicola and it was awesome. Fishing from the front porch every day?! Are you kidding me?!

Would love to do motorhome life. The bad thing is they cost as much as many slab homes and depreciate like a car.

My buddy lived on his boat for a few months after his divorce. He said the worst thing about it was the constant dampness.

i own one houseboat and half owner of another. ours aren't drivable like some, just a small house built on barge. boat access only. not sure how long i could live there full time, but, i enjoy being there about as much as i do being anywhere. its on the white river in arkansas. so for me, its houseboat all the way

I would love to buy a live on boat and spend a year to two years travelling the Great Loop. The only problem is that you have to have a capable deckhand and my wife is NOT deckhand material.

Definitely houseboat, because of the implication.

Also, I wanted to be Captain Ron growing up, so that would be badass.
