It seems very apparent to me that by using four different FISA Judges, they were very clearly Judge shopping, intentionally not returning to a Judge who had previously reviewed the document. Each Judge had to start from scratch and read and understand all of this circular logic.

There should have been a policy that once a FISA Judge gets involved in a case, all subsequent requests should go back to that particular Judge. Common sense obviously does not apply.

Great thread. This story would be a wet dream for any investigative reporter. Too bad there are only a handful left.

Yep. The Yahoo/Isikoff article that details Page allegedly meeting with Sechin and Devyekin was printed on Sept. 23rd.

The original FISA application wasn’t approved by Judge Collyer until Oct. 17th.

Steele told the FBI that he “really hated Trump” some time in August. At that same meeting, he got upset about the FBI’s handling of the Dossier and he actually threatened to leak it to the media. He had also already confirmed to them that Glenn Simpson, through Perkins Coie, was his client.

The FBI had to know that Perkins Coie was Hillary’s and the DNC’s goto law firm. They also had to know that Glenn Simpson/Fusion GPS had close ties to Podesta and the Atlantic Council, and had already been working extensively with the Hillary campaign and DNC.

So think about this chain of events...

1. Steele admits his anti-Trump bias, and clearly infers that Hillary and the DNC are his obvious real clients.

2. Steele threatens to leak Dossier details to the media.

3. The FBI still insists Steele is credible.

4. The original application makes no mention of Hillary or the DNC being the likely funders of the Dossier

5. The FBI, knowing Steele threatened to leak, and seeing the Yahoo article has virtually identical details about the alleged meeting with 2 Russians, not only quotes the article as rationale in the application, but they footnote that they “do not believe [Steele] is the source” of the corroborating allegations.

6. Michael Isikoff admitted after the fact that the FBI never called him to even ask who his source might be. So it’s completely asinine for them to have asserted that they didn’t believe Steele was the source.

7. AFTER they got the original application approved, they asked Steele if he leaked to the media, and he admitted he did.

8. This is when they fired him. However, in subsequent renewals, they still insisted Steele was credible, AND... get this... they continued to insist that they did not believe Steele was the source of the Yahoo article.


There are only two possible takeaways from all this... either the FBI are absolute morons and laughably beyond inept and grossly derelict in their duties... or they are crooked as hell dirty cops who lied and broke numerous laws.

Both of which should get them in serious hot water by the FISC and the IG.


If Horowitz next IG report, that is supposed to be about the abuse/improper unmaskings, IC leaks, and the BS in these FISA applications, doesn’t absolutely obliterate all these bad actors, and result in a dozen criminal referrals and actual prosecutions, then we know that Horowitz is nothing but another corrupt swamp creature.

I don’t really know how much longer my blood can boil like this. I’m optimistic, but my growing disappointment is like food for this demoralization I’m trying to fend off. Something’s got to give soon. We can’t live this way.
