What did Marwin do this inning?
1 out, runner on 2nd. Groundball to Marwin at SS, he tries to nail the runner at 3rd with a ball that Bregman can't pick. Everybody is safe. Next hitter hits a Sac fly on what would be the final out. Keuchel then got pulled from the game.

Runner on second 1 out and a ground ball to Marwin. He tries to throw the runner out going to third instead of getting the 2nd out at first. Throws the ball off the runner’s foot. So then a first and third situation with 1 out. Next batter flies out to reddick down the right field line for what would have been the 3rd out.

Marwin has the worst baseball iq I have ever seen.
He's about to catch altuve.

Altuve has value. Marwin has none when he can’t hit. He can play many positions but he doesn’t play them well. He can’t hit. Everyone can see that marwin is a bench player....except JL and hinch

He should not be batting right now.

Funny thing is, I've seen both play some heads up ball. Dekes, let balls drop for DP, and even let pops fall to exchange baserunners.
We are fortunate to have Marwin w Correa out and the void we have had in the OF and when Gurriel has been out.
It's just disappointing after last year's career year to see him regress in his money year. He's even making it easier to let him go as a utility guy.

His teammates need to have a note hanging in his locker when he gets to the park tomorrow:
"The All-Star break is over. These games count."

Tucker may as well save us the time and just go to the plate 0-2.

At least he could have struck out there. Sigh.

It’s sad that tucker is taking all these at bats from a very capable tony kemp.
Posted on 7/20/18 at 11:42 pm to Lsuhoohoo
Tucker has been disappointing so far. Not because of the results because it has been so few games. It’s the simple fact he looks soooo overmatched every ab.

He just needs at bats. Bregs needs to be in his ear every night reminding him how his career started after being called up
Posted on 7/20/18 at 11:44 pm to Lsuhoohoo
It pains me that Ted has played closer to Preston
Bregman's very slow start to his career should have given Ted plenty of leeway in the expectation department, but he is using it up quickly

He's not even flirting with putting balls into the outfield. Just a bunch of ground balls to 2nd.

Bregman was more advanced. He's probably going to need a lot more at bats than we want for him to be a factor this year.

Its frustrating cause we know what we have in Kemp on the bench but I think the absolute worst thing to do would be to bench him and only have him get at bats a couple games a week

The problem is what is he going to improve on in Fresno?
Marisnick can go down there and be an All Star w Reed and White
Maybe Corpus? LOL

Pitchers are really going after him early and not letting him work the count. They are also keeping him off balances. Skaggs was offspeed early in the count to Tucker and then Robles gives him 97 down the pipe.
Tucker needs to get into a grove and really attack early. I know he gave a big hack at Robles 97 but he’s gotta do something with it to get these pitchers to backdown.
Once he does that, he’s shown he can work a count and has pretty good plate discipline
