Mine was at Miami beach. Stayed at a Hilton and they wanted 40 a day to park, something like 30 a day to use their beach, and 125 deposit in case you broke something. As if $150 a night wasn't enough...
I hate when hotels have cold swimming pools too

This past June our connection flight was cancelled from LHR>Rome so BA put us in this shite-tel by Heathrow where we found blood on the shower curtain.

A good many years ago at a downtown hotel in Mobile, I used my card key to enter the room and there was already some guy in the room with only his underpants on. I rushed back to the front desk and complained - they gave me another room for free that night (BFD: I was on company business.).

Evacuated from NOLA to Memphis in Sept 1998 for Hurricane Georges (I was 11 years old).
Got there, they didn't have our reservation. Dad flips out. They manage to get us a room but a smaller room than we had reservations for.
Get into the room, it's roach infested.

My wife left her iPad in a Sheraton on a recent vacation.
Upon our return, we realized it and I used the Track my Apple Device feature. The battery was still in tact, and it was at the hotel. I called, explained all of this, and spoke to a housekeeping manager who had seen the iPad come through lost and found.
Now all of a sudden its missing. The battery is dead and it cant be tracked now. Its our fault - but still a weird experience.

You know all of those charges are likely listed on their website, right?

Other than having to stay at some lower end hotels in southern Texas for work a long time ago, I've only had one serious issue with a hotel stay.
Booked a basic room at the Windsor Court in Nola and we were going to spend the night and meet friends for dinner. Lined up a baby sitter and packed up our crap and when we got to the lobby to check in, I could tell right away that something wasn't going well.
The staff was frazzles and they kept looking at the computer and making us wait. Finally told us to go sit in the lobby and the would get back to us. Got a call 15 minutes later stating that they had a huge wedding party booked at the hotel and something got messed up and we were shite out of luck. Even said that because we were a local, they bumped us out.
Ended up staying at our friends hotel and slept on a pull out couch. I called the GM of the hotel to raise hell and he asked what weekend I could come back and he would make it right. He gave us a suite on the club level for two nights and had a Jr. suite across the hall for my kids as well. We got to close a door at our end of the hall and it was like having our own little wing.
They also had wine, cheese, and fruit waiting on us in the room at check in.

Stumbled and fell, coming out of elevator where tile met the carpet, at a hotel in Baltimore. Got a little rug burn on my left knee but didn't think anything of it.
Three weeks later I was in the hospital with MRSA. Went thru seven operations and spent three months in the hospital. After that I spent ten months in a nursing home for wound treatment and physical therapy.

Another time the crown plaza bump an entire bachelor party for some thing called rope fest (human bondage festival) they were having in the hotel. We had to cram a ton of people in 2 rooms they were able to find us. Just don't stay at the crown plaza it sucks.

I stayed at a holiday inn in FL once and I thought for sure it was a section of hell.

Back in 2012 I was making a quick trip to Chicago to watch a few ball games. Looked online and was able to book the Chicago O'Hare Garden Hotel...pictures looked decent enough for a guys trip. I wasn't looking for the Ritz afterall.
Show up, and go to check in and notice that the back wall of the lobby is non-existent... as in, under construction. Opened up to I-90. I thought, ok... that's unfortunate but I'm only going to be in the room for a little while... lets roll with it, just wont leave anything valuable.
Go to the room, only to find one of the house keepers taking a shite in my bathroom. I guess she was cleaning the room and had to go. Well she didn't clean enough before hand because there was a used condom still laying on the bed. This was my cue to leave... we checked out, with a full refund, and made our way across the interstate to Renaissance Chicago.
Went back in 2014 and noticed while passing on the interstate that the original hotel had been torn down. I guess we know why.

Was staying at a hotel in Maui two years ago and the elevators were shut down for maintenance for the entire week. The worst part is we were staying on the 7th floor

At a Motel in Eagle Lake, TX my friend I was sharing the room with pissed the bed in a drunken stupor. When he attempted to flip the mattress, he found an empty tequila bottle and evidence of multiple piss accidents on the mattress. The piss rings resembled the rings you find on a cross cut section of an oak tree. Add that to the multiple dead bugs we would find in the room daily.
