Has Deschamps replaced Napolean as France's favorite son?

And victory in Russia.

Bob Bradley would've won the World Cup with France just as easily as Deschamps did

I wish the USMNT’s starting XI included the starting keeper for Tottenham, LB for Atletico, CB’s for Real Madrid and Barca, RB about to move to Bayern Munich, CM’s for Chelsea, Juventus, and United, forwards for PSG, Atletico, and Chelsea....Not including all the other studs on the bench and ones that were left off the team. I’m sure that had nothing to do with them winning

Just because France won it all, people are going to refuse to admit that they looked like shite for a good portion of this tournament.

Where is Zidane coaching these days?

Traditionally Great players don't necessarily translate into great Manager/Coaches. Beckenbauer was maybe the exception and the Brazilian guy who coached Pele in 1970....of course that Brazilian team was insanely good and could have won with even a man down. Deschamps seems to have it down pretty good, but he has very stout talent around him in Pogba, Hernandez and Giroud. But the key to this squad was Greisman. He helped setup so many shots in this World Cup( The own goal was really Greisman's shot) . He scored 2 yesterday and assistd on Pogba's goal

Deschamps is one of the more frustratingly boring managers around. More than any current Italian manager, a torchbearer for the old Italian style of setting up ultra sound defensively, don't concede and hope star attackers get you a 1-0 to protect.

That said, I would say that France has often had issues with player attitude ect and Deschamps has handled the team pretty well in that regard and often just having star players work together for the NT and not create issues is more than half the battle.
