Anybody know of anyone who will come do the swap in the BR area? Yes it seems like a simple fix but I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff.

Youtube is your friend. Get the pump on Amazon.

Why do you need this booster pump, vacuum? If so throw that in the garbage now that the pump went out and get a Dolphin electric vacuum. Best thing I ever did with my pool.

You can buy the Dolphin Active 20 for around $700 and it comes with screen filters and cartridge filters that will pick up anything even pollen. No need to replace the pump with this option. Just unhook the electrical, remove broke pump then cap/plug suction and discharge line.

Get a Dolphin and forget about the vacuum pump.

So I recently changed my pump out and the sand filter. I also have a floor cleaner as well that I can detach so the skimmer cleans the surface. With the dolphin, do you constantly have to skim the surface with a net? If so that would be a definite PITA

I have a few trees in the yard, so I do skim the top or I can wait till they settle at the bottom and let the dolphin pick them up.
I usually just skim the top

LSU - the Dolphin will not interfere with the pool skimmer. Like Gorilla said the Dolphin will pick up anything that sinks to the bottom. I just let my skimmer suck up any small floating items. Rarely do I ever use the net.

Best thing about a Dolphin is that you can run it at anytime...pump doesn't have to be on. Easily the best investment and decision I've ever made for our pool.

Any recommendations for what model on in ground pools?
Posted on 7/16/18 at 8:04 am to Canvasback
I am in the planning stages of putting an in ground pool in at my house. I am meeting with my contractor this week, I have checked out the Dolphin reviews and it looks pretty slick. I would rather have this than the Polaris style vacuum. Does this mean I don't need a pump, or are there 2 separate pumps- one for vacuum and one for circulation/filtering?
Sorry to sound ignorant just trying to get as much info as possible.

Polaris uses own pump. You will still need pool pump

This is the one that I have....Works great. Cleans bottom and sides. Will climb the walls.

Honestly, Dolphin is the best and most reliable robotic vacuum brand there is. I wouldn't recommend or trust any other ones. Be sure to get one that has the top filter basket (easiest to clean out). I would also recommend getting the caddy because it is extremely useful and makes it much easier to move around. I have the Dolphin S200 (newest 2018 model) and it works great. Do some research between models and get one that fits your needs, but stick to Dolphin.

The Dolphin vacuum does not require a pump. It is electric 110v pool vacuum. I have the Active 20 and it cleans bottom and scrubs walls. I second getting the cart for it also just for convenience when storing.
Polaris Booster pump vacuums are a waste of money and don’t clean 1/4 of what a Dolphin does.

You all convinced me. Bought a Nautilus Plus CC yesterday. Hope it lives up to the hype

So you're putting a device with live electric currents running through it straight into the pool? That would scare the hell out of me
