This actually pisses me off to no end. This is the kind of shite people should actually be protesting about.
Nah, the fricking idiots in this city who waste their time holding signs in the heat for hours are all going to gladly agree with this move.

Doing things like this is how you turn people who weren’t concerned about St. George into St. George supporters. Democrats never learn.
It seems about every other week the St. G organizers get a massive gift in the form of Democrat incompetence or disgusting political actions. They should be giddy over this.

I'm glad to hear that Tara doesn't appear to be signing on for this bullshite.
She may not vote how I'd like her to all the time, but she's a good enough person that's better than the BS of the other four.

I just moved. Still currently have a place there and cannot wait until that is no longer a thing. All four of them should be immediately recalled.

That's the impression I get, too. She at least makes it seems like she's a decent person. The four who signed this are all pieces of shite, but that's not new information.

What’s the purpose of the St George movement? To get away from black people/ Democrats? Is it just a tax issue?

If they fail to reach an agreement, state law dictates the decision then goes to Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat.
Why in the frick is this the law? How can the governor appoint a metro council member? It's two different governments.

The people in the proposed St George area want their own ISD.

Long answer.
But I can tell you that the whole issue has been misframed from the word go.

Louisiana Constitution, Home Rule Charter.

I have more faith in Wicker to do the right thing than Freiberg.
From my distance, everything I have heard about Wicker is that I disagree with about 98 percent of her politics, but she seems like a good person who generally is trying to do the right thing (even if I may disagree with what the right thing actually is).
Hopefully she doesn't get sucked into this.

Huey Long, baw.
The governor has a lot of power.
All local governments derive their power from the state. So when a local position can't be filled in X number of days, the governor then gets the power to do it.
Happens every once in a while in small town alderman situations.

This is correct.

That's so crazy to me. It would be like Trump appointing someone to an open seat in the Montana legislature.

Well the Constitution of the United States prohibits that.

When was Buddy's term up? I live in his district and we are just going to put another conservative on the council when it's election time again.
