Next week the Ultimate Baseball Championship kicks off in West Palm Beach, FL. We have a handful of 2022 commits who will attract a lot of attention playing in this heavily scouted event. Concerned we may lose a player or 2 if we don't name a coach soon.

I don't want to read anything negative going on with Thompson but other options are JC Merrifield can play 2nd base and Connor Simon is a star in the making to play SS next year and with good bats as well.

There is an outfielder from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M named Mathieu Vallee that was at the top of the list for 60 time (6.26), 2nd in OF throwing velo (95 mph), and also had 95 mph exit velo. His hand speed and bat speed are well above average. I don't think we necessarily need to add a JUCO outfielder to the class, but in the interest of recruiting the best players available, he'd be worth a look.
This kid is now committed to Dallas Baptist.

Essentially you have two catchers and three pitchers you have to worry about. Get one of the catchers and one of the pitchers to make it here and you might have all you need for Corbin or Johnson or Vitello to get you to Omaha a year from now.

Looking ahead to the 2022 class and I think the upside with position players is the most impressive we’ve had in a while. Kling in particular looks like a potential superstar. Hopefully we don’t lose any of these guys while they’re waiting on the hire.

I’m wondering if they have someone like Kiel or Fury bumped up to be able to contact recruits right now while things are in flux. I know Mainieri is communicating with the incoming class, but all those guys already signed LOIs, so anyone in the program can talk to them without being an official recruiter.

Kiel graduated and once season ended he is done
He's not a paid coach on staff
Fury is probably handling most of the summer camp logistics and day to day operations to keep program going until new coach is named

Found some old articles that said a portion of this is for 2022 draft prospects as well, maybe also including a specific 2022 high school player league later this Summer.

There has to be a lot more to the Hampton situation than led on. For a player of his status to transfer mid season and not be on a team heading into July, this isn’t just some normal situation.

Kentucky catcher Coltyn Kessler is in the portal. Would be a big change of pace at the plate from Milazzo.
