This also isn't the first time that the media has been targeted by a shooter (That live air shooting of a reporter and her cameraman come to mind). However, in this political climate it says a lot that newspaper offices are now a target.

Also surprised how many people were there, we subscribed at one time to help us decide if we wanted to retire there. (No.) and it wasn't a big, thick paper then. Being in the state capital it may be the paper of record for the state and that make have kept it healthy.
