Looking at the brackets, the loser of this match will have a much better chance at a deep run.
Managers have to be at least considering playing the second 11 and hoping they get a lot of yellow cards.

This is the worst rule ever

In theory, I think it's a good idea. Rewards teams for "playing clean", I guess you could say, in the case of everything being equal.
This is just an extremely unlikely situation where England and Belgium are tied on everything, and losing benefits both teams with an easier draw.
Doubt the FIFA executives who made the rule even thought a situation like this was even possible. Here, the teams are incentivized to earn as many yellow cards as possible, instead of avoiding them, as was intended.

Doesn’t matter though, does it? Or haven’t you heard the news?

They used to give out a couple of UEFA Cup places to different leagues every year based on fair play
I’d definetly have people like Cahill, TAA and Rose get booked
Although it’s not like Brazil have looked that great and their first XI drew with a second string England team in a friendly last year

If I'm England, I'm parking the bus. Putting Welbeck up front while resting everyone else. England is fricking retarded if they win this match.
They legit have their best chance to make the quarters, hell even semis or THE FINAL if they lose with their side of the bracket being 15 times easier than the side that already has France, Argentina, Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay, obviously Colombia and possibly Colombia.
Best teams in the weak side of the draw are Spain, Croatia, and the loser of group G between England and Belgium.

Ehh I dunno about that. Yes the left side "looks" better, but that is just because they have the name teams.
Croatia has looked like one of the top 3 teams in the tournament, and the winner of Group H (I like Belgium) will even that side of the bracket. You'll have Belgium, Croatia and Spain on one side and Brazil, France on the other

In my mind, I actually do everything I can to win this game. I think part of winning is the mindset. You turn off for this game and lose on purpose, it might not be as easy to turn it back on.

How many people can you have redcarded before you have to forfeit?

Wtf are you talking about? Why the hell would a team try to rack up more yellow cards to lose a tiebreaker to finish 2nd when they could take 2 seconds and just kick the ball into their own net to accomplish the same thing without risking losing players for later games?

It depends on the way you look at it. They have a much better chance of winning their QF matchup. However, Colombia is a much tougher Round of 16 matchup than Japan would be.

But what about Colombia?

I learned that from FIFA on the 360 when I would get pissed and start hacking.
