By your logic a team could have only 1 commit, if that’s a 5 Star, would be the number 1 class lol

Why did you feel compelled to start this thread? Couldn’t handle seeing people happy about LSU Football? Honest question.

So you would not care one bit if this class was ranked last in the SEC and 83rd overall instead of 3rd overall??

You are correct. Due to the way they rank recruiting classes, it means nothing for us to be #3 right now.

I care about filling needs and the particular talent we place in those needs. Recruiting rankings mean very little when it's said and done. Right now, they mean NOTHING

How many of those classes have two 2 stars and a guy with no stars?

You missed this post:

Usually, a rating based on an average should have some stipulation like "minimum 10 commits", for example. All of these teams have between 10 and 18 commits.

When you only cherry pick "facts" that are negative post after post, I feel justified calling it hate...and GFY.

Clemson has 12 3 Star commits. You think their fans are complaining?

How?

Number of commits does not matter. It's an average player rating.

Not sure if serious but I’ll attempt to explain this simple concept to you.

If after 5 carries, Derrius Guice has 75 yards. That’s 15 ypc

Is he

A) more likely to maintain that average over 25 carries

Or

B) will that number regress to what will be a lower number, which albeit, could still be impressive.

Because our fanbase sets high hopes when they see LSU anything at #3, then bashes everyone and their momma when we end up at #12.

That's why.

It’s difficult to see how rational people would find this post to be negatively biased. It is factual and draws reasonable conclusions.
Some people have become very defensive.
It’s early in the game.
Relax.

If you don’t include the kicker and long snapper, what’s the average?

91.1 and two holes to fill.

People can’t enjoy the ride? What if we end up with a top 5 class at the end? We could have been happy and enjoining it the whole time.

We...LSU seems to be having a great recruiting class so far.
Many are happy.
Many want to sh!t on those who are happy.
So are the times it seems.

Did you not read this part of my post?

"Not saying all this is bad for LSU, I'm excited about this class. We're filling needs, it has great potential."

We can be excited and we should. But it sets hopes too high for the fans out there who do not follow recruiting and do not know how it works.

The general point of my post is "Hey guys that don't know recruiting, our ranking is going to drop from #3 over time but we are filling needs - it's still a great class."

Why are LSU fans entitled to believing the recruiting class should be top 5 every year?

News flash, LSU hasn’t won shite since 2011

Finishing anywhere in the top 10 should be acceptable. Hell the actual team hasn’t finished a season ranked in the top 10 in 7 years.

Clemson has been far more successful than LSU the last 5 years and their class has 12 3 stars.

Logged in just so I could downvote the OP. If team rankings don't mean anything, then neither do individual rankings. One follows the other.

Guess the OP didn't stop to consider that.
