Skyrim players: Imperial or Stormcloak?

Which one of these is better to join? Also, can you be in one and also be in the thieves guild? Thanks

Stormcloaks, Nords 4 Life.
And you can join the guilds with either choice. Guilds are after thoughts, kind of just crow barred into the game.

Imperials/Whiterun let me buy my first house and caught a dragon for me so I felt obligated to help them win the war.
Ulfric didn’t do shite for me. Pretty sure his body is still laying by the Windhelm throne a year later.

So you found the dragonstone for Jarl/Wizard, Warned the Jarl of the Dragon, and then had to kill the dragon for the same Jarl, and your prize? A shitty sword and ability to grind for hours to buy a home.
Yeah what a guy that Jarl is, you owed him the world. As you completely forget, that if not for Ulfrics soldier guiding you from death, you would be dragon fodder. Then the same stormcloak soldier , also gets you food, gear, and brew from his sister in Town.
But yeah, you owed the Imperials!

Let's also add, did you forget about the Axe that was going to cut your head off????? You know, by your friendly Imperials, and your crime?
Being a traveler on the main road into Skyrim. You so deserved 2 have your head cut off for doing that heinous act. But yeah, Imperials are pretty good 2 ya, eh?

The Empire v Stormcloaks seemed like an after thought too. Neither decision makes an impact on the game.

Part of the reason why Oblivion might be my favorite ES game. It has its flaws, but damn if the guilds and quests aren't incredible.

The Nords were pretty racist right? Unfrocked didn’t care and his underlings were making the dark elves live in ghettos. It’s lretty fricked up.
I usually play as a Stormcloak because I always play as a Nord and that just makes sense from an RPG standpoint, the Assainstion of the emperor fits in well with the stormcloak questline.
As to guilds, they have some cool benefits but I always felt uncomfortable, especially with the thieves guild. To become the nocturnal superhero thief, you have to agree to stand guard over her after you die? frick that. That was very odd

I hate both sides. the imperials are some controlling dickheads who almost killed me.
