ESPN

You should have stopped right here. I used to keep my TV on ESPN even if I wasn't really paying attention just to make sure I didn't miss any breaking sports news but over the last few years ESPN has been slowly fading into obscurity and I can't wait to see just how desperate they get as they continue to lose thousands of subscribers each month. They averaged 17,000 a day this past April and have lost a total of 14 MILLION since 2011.

My point, other than the joy it gives me to tell everyone about their pending demise, is that ESPN is quickly becoming less and less relevant, especially regarding the big 3 college sports. They have lost a ton of the on air talent and sports reporters that actually knew what they were talking about, researched the sports they covered and we're more than just entertaining and attractive.

If "if" was a skiff we could all go sailing.

We've hashed and rehashed this same subject ad nauseum.

Would of, could of, should of. I'll be so glad when regular season begins and the silly season ends. This interem between baseball and football is so tiresome.

Yes and all of the resident Pump Lump Cheerleaders on here are certainly "Losers" in every sense of the word.

They have their list of well known time worn excuses for every LSU loss in every sport.

They're purveyors of Mediocrity and I have no use for any of those that don't care if LSU ever wins Championships in anything. Frick em all!

At that time a good friend of mine was a coach at SELU. A couple days after that game a certain starting OL that went on to the NFL was on campus at a track meet. They had just built the new track facilities and this OL, who was there to watch/chase a girl running track at selu, told this coach that Jordan Jefferson had been out all night and was slurring his words in the huddle and could barely relay the plays. Said he never went to sleep. I wasn’t registered on this board at the time. I totally trust the coach. He was married to a childhood friend and I hung out with them all the time. It wasn’t a story with 6 degrees of separation. He told me about it that day.

No, everyone knew we would have beat Okie State like a drum. Never heard a single pundit say otherwise. So keep your focus on the irritation of 2003 where it belongs.

I was told that we didn't keep with the gameplan that the team had worked on for the entire bowl prep. They said that Miles had a dream the night before the game that convinced him he needed to try something different.

Down vote (for ESPN), but you are probably on target.

Then again, if we played Oklahoma State and won, ESPN would've talked about how Alabama supposedly outplayed us in the GoTC and anointed them as the "real national champion."

doubtful.

if we beat Ok State, we'd have then beaten the Big 12, Pac 10, and Big East champs, and 3 SEC teams (Bama, Arky, UGA in SECCG) who were in the top 10 when we played them, 2 of whom remained top 10 in the final poll.

before 1/9/12, there was legit talk of a split title because our season to that point had been that good, and we'd already beaten Bama.

We'd have one more NC and they would have one fewer.
