Thread not only a out that game. Team as a whole was brutal. Watch Oregon game the running backs didn't want to hit it up the middle they were getting blasted. That 2011 team was rock solid against the run. They hit you like a freight train.

Kind of like New England Patroits the year they went underfeated . Def best team but its really hard to beat a team twice at any level of sports. I for one think coaching does matter when you play a team multiple times, adjustments adjustments adjustments.

(Which effectively destroyed the offensive chemistry) The team was never quite the same after that.
Until a buffoon of a coach ran the same play into an iron wall over and over... and refused to change.
This pre-dated the 21-0 abomination by a few months and spelled the the actual beginning of the end for RDB. Stubborn RDB should've just left things alone with JL QB'ing the team.
You snooze mentally and you lose. Coulda Woulda Shoulda.

The offense was serviceable because of the defense. Racked up a ton of yards when the other D was gassed. It was fun to watch.

You are correct that D was a turnover machine. Pass on them and tip the pass and always seemed to be DB in right place to intercept. Run the ball and they raked it out and again always a Tiger in position to scoop it up.

2011: Great season with a super talented team!!
1.9.12: The HC started to believe he was a great coach, and nothing had changed with his mindset, believing it was HIM and not the talent!!
Les Miles ruined the history of that season and he did it because of his unbridled ego. That ego had been a source of problems for him, throughout his journey....from player to assistant to head coaching.
Today he is trying to remain relevant, with this pseudo-acting career and all his ill-advised commentary. But then again, its the Les Miles Misguided Ego AGAIN!!
Les Miles brought us Ed Orgeron and that is the saga we are facing today. I did not believe Les Miles was a competent manager, EVER, and I even think less of Ed Orgeron. Les, at least, had an education at Michigan. Orgeron has been like a Mid-evil apprentice and instead of becoming a master, he'll keep pounding a "metaphorical anvil." Then EO will be fired like Les Miles. Alleva structured both deal to cost you the fans, LSU and the foundation that was built by a Dwarf who currently resides in Tuscaloosa. Incompetent leadership is not relegated to our collective coaches' offices, rest assured.

I said that many times over and over but miles could not get it done. So in a way a forgotten gem of a team because of miles

I do think it was time for Les to move on. Jury still out on O for me at least. I don't miss calling a time out right after coming back on field from a tv timeout .

How many other teams scored 0 in a national title game??
Posted on 6/16/18 at 10:15 am to LSU49er
Jesus Christ one game changes the outlook of what those young men did for the entire season. Probably the toughest regular season schedule of all times. I forgot how many ranked teams we beat like a drum.

2006 was the Tigers' best team ever. Statistically they were better on offense and defense than the 2007 championship team.
How that 2006 team ever managed to lose two games remains a riddle within a mistery within a puzzle within an enigma.

Embarassing and it was mostly horrible coaching and lack of any game plan or adjustments

quote:LM switched QB's & put in Jefferson versos Alabama / November.
But, interestingly, that strategy did beat Alabama during the regular season

It’s amazing how people get something so wrong in their heads and after years they don’t know fiction from reality.
Just incredible.

That team was the best in the country that year. Miles was the only one that could stop us.

The 07 offense was better statistically than the 06 offense.

I mean not at all really.
We lost to two top 5 teams on the road in very competitive games, one of which won the national championship. Auburn finished the year #8/9.
If O does that this year half the idiots on this board will want the stadium renamed after him.
