I thought anyone could buy any gun at any time Bc we don’t have any regulations?

I was told that our background check system was broken and that the NRA was making sure that anyone could buy guns with ease.

The guy tried to buy a handgun, there are regulations. Had it been a military grade AR15 assault rifle they would have given him 5 50 round clips to go with his weapon...

True.
I also thought that if you couldn't buy a gun then you couldn't commit any violent crime.

That was just someone who forgot the password.

It's not working like it should. Flawed background checks have led directly to the sale of guns used in murders, including mass shootings.

He should have found a gun show to use the gun show loophole.

He should've bought in Broward County. No problemo.

Yes, because government agencies are failing to do their jobs and red flag people. Hell, the TX church shooter shouldn't have been able to buy a gun but the USAF never reported his conviction.

On Tuesday, acting TBI director Jason Locke said that Micheli had attempted to purchase a gun May 30, four days before the killing, but failed to pass the required TBI background check.
"Had he had that handgun, there could have been a whole lot more casualties at that gym that day that occurred," Locke said.
Hmm, seems like the TBI is suggesting gun regulations kept this from being a more deadly event. I was told that gun regulations were useless.

So there are "sensible gun control laws" already in place? Who knew??

And directions to the nearest school.

They are when the current regulations aren't even handled properly

So I have a "cousin's wife's childhood neighbor" kind of connection to this guy.
Our good friend in Nashville's mother has used the victim as a personal trainer for like 20 years. The daughter, who we're friends with, has gone with her a bunch to this gym and on several occasions the murderer helped in some capacity.
The back story is that the murderer tried to steal the victim's client list and start his own gym. Somehow the victim caught him and fired him.
The murderer then lost his mind and claimed on facebook that he was the son of god or some shite and that he was going to hatchet up everyone in a church. The cops were called on him, he was detained and questioned, but not arrested.
The victim was training two women at the time of the attack. One of which happened to be an OB/GYN. The two women tried to throw small dumbells at the murderer during the attack, but as he turned to chase them they ran into a locked room and called 911.
After the murderer left, the women walked out and found the victim still alive but bleeding out. His entire forearm was severed off and he had several head wounds. The OB/GYN formed a tourniquet, but it was too little too late.
The victim was apparently a very nice guy with a very loyal customer base for decades. He has a family that is left behind.
ETA:
Word was he was released from cops after facebook threat because he didn't make it to any specific person/place and convinced cops it was a joke and he was just making a point. Something like that. The girl I knew was iffy on these details of the facebook threat as she heard them through the grapevine.

I'm reading this differently. Being rejected for a gun purchase made him so angry that he lashed out with a hatchet.
Posted on 6/12/18 at 1:46 pm to real turf fan
Was this an AR-15 style hatchet

I could see this questioning by police as something that came up on firearm background check and thus not allowing him to get one though.
