The Doomsday Clock moved to 2 minutes until midnight earlier this year because of an exchange of harsh words between the US and NoKo. Midnight is supposed to be the point of global nuclear apocalypse and the media usually covers the infrequent moves of the clock quite heavily. I’m curious to see how far the clock gets set back now. The move earlier this year was based on words alone; what happened last night should carry just as much or more weight.

The cult declares victory whenever Trump shows up, like a super participation trophy. But this is an important issue which we need to support and hopefully get done.
Those of us who live in reality know that the North Koreans have agreed to demilitarization and denuclearization several times in the recent past. This little summary provides a good Timeline. It all comes down to what is actually agreed to and do they follow up. So far we have a continuing engagement agreement, which isn’t much, but it is still positive. In maybe six months to a year we will know if anything real comes of it all..

Stop this kind of nonsense. The world has for decades acknowledged the instability of North Korea and the threat they pose with a nuclear arsenal. That Trump is at this stage with a mad man is a positive for the world. I don’t understand how anyone can look at this as a bad thing or something to be derided.
