If the National Football League gradually declines, what sport will America turn to next?

If the National Football League gradually decline because of safety of the sport, politicization of the Sport (National Anthem, police brutality, race, mass incarceration, etc.), penalties, boring teams in Super Bowl every year (Patriots/Broncos/Steelers), what sport will America turn to next as leisure?
Baseball? Seen as too old-school, traditional, conservative.
Hockey? Too white for some Americans.
Basketball? Too fast, urbane, hip white and black players.
Soccer? Too internationalist.

It would be the NBA pretty easily
The ratings back it up

Nothing. It'll be like the pre-salary cap era when the NFL was still king but wasn't the huge monolith that dwarfed everything. There were more attention divided to a wider array of sports back then and that will probably happen if the NFL ever declined. Niche sports like boxing would benefit a lot more than the mainstream sports such as baseball and basketball.

Soccer, same as rest of the world. Although when that becomes the case they'll figure out a way to frick it up with commercials. Football is so painful to watch these days. Once you adjust to soccer and appreciate it, the nonstop action with no commercials makes anything else awful to watch.

It's hockey. You southern boys just need to catch on. Non-stop action, speed, skill, physical play, sacrifice, the grind. It's got everything. Fantastic sport.

Another football league that consists of comparably talented players like the AFL and USFL were?

I take it back. It won't be hockey. It's baseball, always has been, always will be. It's America's Pastime.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball.
America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

High level soccer is great and not a 5 hour infomercial like other sports.
