Might be time to commit yourself to the a’s full time. Make more money. To hell with college and Norman Oklahoma, that won’t pay very well

With the A’s luck he’ll have a career ending knee injury in the 2nd half of a blowout of Kansas.

that was my thought as well. its hard enough to make it to the majors without taking a year off. he's gonna miss out on half a season of minor league ball right? with that plus the added injury risk of playing QB, this seems like a shortsighted move unless he gets drafted top 5 in the NFL

I live in Texas and I’d live in OKC or Tulsa in a heartbeat.

I can't believe the As are guaranteeing 5 million and letting the 5'11" 190lb guy play QB in the Big 12.

Ideally you wouldn't want him playing but overall I think it's a good move for a low payroll team like the
A's if he's a top 3 prospect like some speculate they
gotta good deal

I can see it now: $5 mill in the bank w/ an extra year to play college football, let’s say they make a big bowl or playoff, idk how he’d be eligible to play, where’s his motivation to go to class @ this point? (Whatever ‘intern’ or assistant he has will make good money this year taking tests for him!)

Absolute waste of $5 million by Oakland for a mediocre athlete. One of stupider decisions in franchise history.

I could see the A’s supporting him being OU’s quarterback. If he has a huge year it’ll give him a lot of buzz when he starts his professional baseball career and he’ll bring a following with him.

I'm sure there is insurance on his contract for any sort of career ending injury.

Probably, and it's probably far more expensive than it would be for a guy not playing QB.

Sure, but it's not like the A's are out $5M if something happens to him. (At least, I would assume not...)

Yeah I'd imagine there is some sort of insurance on their part, but I don't know for sure. I know clubs insure the big contracts though.

Kyler Murray must have one hell of an agent.
