How many other options are there? I do think CPM needs to tweak the lineup a bit and get Broussard and Hughes away from each other in the order though.

Sanders going this game is basically CPM playing for second in this regional. To have any shot to win the whole thing this is a bad idea. I think he realizes we likely won’t win it and wants to avoid the embarrassment of being sent packing my a midweek opponent

It’s win or go home at this point. You have to go into every game and start the best guy you have available. Maybe if LSU jumps out to a big league you can pull him early and have him available for if there is a Monday game. I’m guessing this means Beck is probably going to start the second game if they win the first game.

It’s not that people don’t think Sanders can beat Northwestern St, it’s that people think he’s our best starter left (if Hilliard is out) and somebody is going to have to help us beat Oregon St twice. If you are trying to win the regional you have to try and beat Northwestern St with some down the line pitching.

Or maybe he wants to do everything we can to win and move on to the next game...and then worry about who we pitch later
