How useful is Uber at WDW? How much walking/time can it save you?

You better get a commercial policy or your going to have problems if you get into an accident.

They are both the same and most drivers appear to have an uber and lyft sticker. We try both and go with whoever is cheaper and closer.

Lyft seems to have more promotions, but you have to watch the fine print. And some cities seem to have more of one than the other. Not sure why, but we went to Chicago last year and it was all lyft. Went to NYC and plenty of ubers.

Nah, most Personal Auto Policies have either changed language for rideshare or have endorsements available

From my experience, lyft drivers are more professional. I exclusively use them now.

It was extremely useful. We stayed at Port Orleans - French Quarter and waited maybe 2-5 minutes after calling Uber for a ride. They brought us directly to each park, to the front entrance. No waiting for busses and dealing with the public. When we were walking out the parks, we called Uber and a car was literally there waiting for us. We made it back to our hotel each time while people stood in line for free busses. We spent around $7 a trip and it was well worth it.

In the evening, we would call them to bring us to the various resorts for dinner and again, pickup on both ends was in minutes.

Can’t say enough about using them at WDW If you’re a person who values their time.

I have geico... they required converting to commercial. No interest in arguing facts.

in your area, or everywhere?

Most people drive for both. The quality of the drivers and the cars is about the same. I like the Uber app better, but lyft runs a bunch of promos, and usually has lower pricing.

Do you have kids that are young enough to need a booster seat? I’m wondering if that would make it harder since I doubt most Uber drivers have?

I used to use Uber exclusively. I started using Lyft because it was cheaper and stick with it for the most part unless Uber is the only one available.

Uber in BR and really most places has completely lost control of their quality control. I had a driver pick me up from the St. Patrick's Day parade in BR that looked like she had just finished prostituting at a Motel 6, her car was old and filthy, and she was smoking a cig as she drove us. It has become a complete crap shoot as to what you'll get with BR Ubers now.

The creepy taxi drivers in other cities seem to have all gone to Uber. Lyft has just been a better and cheaper experience everywhere I've been. Lyft also sends out discounts like crazy.

At least when it comes to Dallas this is my experience as well. Lyft drivers seem to like working for them more based off anecdotal conversations I've had w/drivers. Almost all of them drive for both though.

No kids but I saw the Lyft “Minnie” Vans were popular and had two car seats in them at all times.

I have to use Lyft because somehow my name got changed in Uber to some Muslim name and therefore I can't set up with my card, etc. Thank goodness Lyft came along. There is literally no number to call Uber unless you are a driver and emailing hasn't resulted in any response.

For the Disney question. I don't know if Uber/Lyft are allowed to bring you right to the entrance anymore. I think they are reserving that feature for their Minnie Vans from now on.

It's nice that you self evaluated your post...its refreshing not to have to point it out to your dumb arse

Tell you what. Take your financed car and go drive for one and report back when you’re in the black.

This only makes sense if you finance a car just to drive for Uber.
