Recruiting says otherwise

To follow this up with "Top 25" shows how far you have to stretch to think you even have a point. You think a blue blood program should be scraping by on:

2018: 22
2017: 23
2016: 26
2015: 30

What makes you think an average 4 year class of just over 25 means recruiting is going well for a supposed blue blood program?

You think Clemson is a blue blood?

They're more Nouveau riche than anything else.

In this context, what does it mean?

I don't know if the poll listed those teams or provided some criteria, but I know that the 23rd ranked team in all time win percentage is NOT a blue blood of any kind.

No. I was laughing at the 26% that thinks they are.

Nebraska was a dynasty not all that long ago... and with Frost in charge, they’re trending upwards.

Demographic trends do not support Nebraska ever being a dynasty again. Those days are over.

Riley was fired for going 4-8.
Pelini was tired be being a hothead and an embarrassment.
Callahan was fired for being plain terrible.

Not sure where you get the whole “every coach that’s doing that/8-4” argument.

Solich was fired for averaging 3 losses a year, and he had 3/6 seasons of 2 or less losses

Pelini literally lost 4 games every single season.

You see how many coaches you are cycling through yet still dont get it - your program is toast. 4 losses is what you should expect, not be upset over.

Frost will probably be the best coach of the bunch (well, maybe Solich will have done better in the end, we will see), and he still wont have Nebraska close to competing on the national stage.

Can’t consider Penn state or Notre Dame as bluebloods. We have to remember that they were independents and we’re allowed to schedule all of their own games, many of which were ridiculous matchups.

I think there are just three true “blue bloods” - Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan.

I think there are plenty of lower tier schools below that - Texas, Nebraska, Penn State, LSU, Ohio State, USC, Florida State

Everything under that just falls under that.

46th in wins & 18th in winning % says you're wrong. Sorry.

They are nowhere near any sort of big talent base, and have to sell a program that's been practically irrelevant on the national scene for near 2 decades (longer than these kids have been alive) to choose Lincoln over Austin, a winning program in OU near OKC...or California kids away from L.A. or Berkley...seriously...where is the talent going to come from?

Dude, it's ok that you don't follow their recruiting. I wouldn't expect you to.

Nebraska has been poaching playmakers from all over the country since way back when. They still do it now. The 2018 class had like one player from Nebraska.

They've gotten like 2 4* QBs from California in the past couple years and another 4* from somewhere else, can't remember.

They've poached new Orleans players for a very very long time.

They didn't drop off because of non qualifiers. They dropped off because they refused to change and the game passed them by. Sticking with the option offense killed them. To many athletes now, the option doesn't work anymore.

All you have to do is find the best coach in the history of college football and you will be set.

Texas. Nebraska and Michigan are no longer blue bloods. Texas has a chance to come back. Nebraska and Michigan have no recruiting base any more. I cannot imagine Tennessee being ahead of LSU.

Being a blue blood isn't as big of a deal now. It's more of an arms race where if your team isn't willing to spend they are going to get left behind. Money, location, and coach are the biggest factors to getting good players and having a successful program.
