Why all the hate for California?

First off, I’d classify myself as a conservative. While I don’t agree with the liberal politics of most elected officials in Cali, the same can be said about leaders of the OT’s beloved New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Austin, etc.
California is a beautiful state...coastline, mountains, desert, snow, beautiful women, great weather, cleaner, etc etc. If my businesss weren’t located here I’d move there in a heartbeat. Why all the hate?

Much of California is just about the most prime real estate in the entire world - better fit for human habitation than just about anywhere else in terms of climate, agronomic properties, and beauty. It's a terrible fricking shame that it's run by morons and degenerates.

The home prices and the cost of living are the only things I hate. I had to pull out of a 2nd interview for a job that paid $75k/year in L.A. The taxes and rent prices made it impossible for me to even consider it with a family. $75k/year is higher than the average family household income across the country. My wife is a teacher and if she got a job immediately, we would have had a combined income of ~$125k/year. That would have been MAYBE lower middle class unless I wanted to commute over an hour each way every day.
So after that, I started hating California.

Because people are stupid.
California is my second favorite state (Hawaii is first). Central and Northern California are absolutely beautiful.

I’ve seen the hate in Austin. Most of it is due to a huge influx of Californians moving here, driving up the housing market and cost of living at an astronomical rate, and pushing their ideals. The same ideals that probably forced them to move here.

Hate the people in the big cities. I've only been as far down south as Santa Cruz, but North California is one of the most beautiful places i've ever visited. I wish housing didn't cost so much because i'd love to move out there
