There are lots of reasons to find Israel distasteful that don't involve hating Jews. I have a pretty big problem with them sharing our technology with China and Russia and getting an absolute pass from criticism on being a purely fecal ally. But I don't pretend that I give two shits about the poor downtrodden Palestinians. They've done plenty to create their situation. Now, if I had spent my childhood in one of those camps I would probably be at war with Israel. Or dead. Compared to the historical norm we all won the fricking lottery growing up in 20th century Dixie. Downright idyllic.

I agree with everything you wrote but:

The Palestinians themselves have been pawns, they had no state or support in 1948 when Israel was created. Syria, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon attacked to grab slices for themselves, they have been screwed by the Turks, British, Zionist, US and Arab neighbors, stateless people don't have a lot of control over what goes on about them.

They get to pay for the sins of Europe and get colonized by European jews with next to no Semitic blood.

Truer words were never written. And yet we are all so pissed off about so much. It is fricking exhausting......

Imagine if, in 1946, the world gave Alabama to the Vatican and they forced all of the Protestants to live in shitholes and stole their property......baptists would be throwing Molotov cocktails at catholic forces. You can’t traet people like less than citizens without severe consequences...someday man is going to pay for our continuing attempt to do so.

This point is lost on most Americans, particularly those under 40 - why? It's relatively unearned and we're far enough from the Depression and WWII generations for this unearned opulence to just be criminally unappreciated.

And worse, they assume that it either:

1. Just happened by chance (and I'm not attacking your lottery analogy, because it's fair in and of itself), or, worse,

2. We took it from someone else.

Neither of those things are true - the United States IS the result of extremely hard work by folks who were committed to rule of law and free market capitalism. America is a blessing to the world as we've made the world a better place. And I'm disinterested in arguing with folks who cannot concede that. They're ignorant or worse.

Perfect? No. Awesome and make the world a better place? You bet your arse.
