Cat killed it's own litter and ate them

Wtf? I have a cat I keep in my shop for mice and it had a litter of kittens. It had them in a soggy area outside and they were soaked so I moved them to the shop bathroom in a cardboard box with the mother. Mother killed them ate them.
Never heard of a cat doing this. Is this normal? Not that I care cause now I don't have to try to give them away, but thought it was weird.

Cats, dogs, and many other animals will kill the sick or weak young to ensure the survival of the stronger ones. It can also be due to stress, as stated above.
