Watching the 6:00 news right now. Haven't watched the 6:00 news in a while and see she's at the desk with Elizabeth Vowell.

Donna's speech is noticably slower. I know about her health issues but hearing her almost hurts you as the listener. It sounds like a struggle for her.

Can't imagine her staying on much longer. She's a BR legend though. God bless her and her family.

I would assume she would be on there as long as she can do the job and she feel strong and healthy enough to do it

Edit to add. She still looks like she’s got a lot of fight left in her

KPLC in Lake Charles has a couple of anchors still on that were doing the same job in the early 90s. I always thought most news people are always trying to move up to the next big gig, but I guess some just find a top spot and are content.

I agree with the poster above saying she's got a lot of fight left. I just wonder what comes first. Her saying she's done or the station saying it's time. Her speech is has slowed so much.

Says someone who knows nothing.

She is going to work as long as she and the station think she can. It’s a mutual agreement. She is only doing 6 o clock but occasionally doing 10 depending on how she feels. She isn’t driving anymore but lives in the Garden District just down the street from the station. I talked to her last week as some of my kids are in school with hers.

She is nowhere near a bitch, if classified as anything it would be a bit of a nerd but she is very bright and extremely well traveled as well as gracious and even charming.

And watching her now I think her voice is doing well.

It does sound ok. It's not messed up. I was just pointing out that it's gotten noticably slower which I didn't realize.

It has and is more noticeable at times. I imagine it just depends on how she is feeling at the moment.

I believe Elizabeth Vowell will move into her chair permanently when she leaves. And deservedly so.

This is a fact. She is as down to earth as anyone I know. Regarding her health issues I wish her only the best.

I ran into her at Albasha a few months before she disclosed her illness. She sat at the table next to me and we were both eating lunch alone. She struck up a conversation and seemed friendly to me. I don't know anything about her otherwise.

And how do you know that about her?

If someone is going to make a blanket statement about someone in the public being a bitch, provide some content. Why do you think she is a bitch? Did you see them in public one time and they didn't talk to you so you took it personal?
