Longview isn’t bad at all.

Neither is Tyler

Your confusion isn't a defense. They are no where near the same. Carthage is the size of Gilmer for goodness sake. Marshall is simply the next mildly populated town East.

Great high school football. Use to be a regular border battle between them and West Monroe in the late 90s and early 00s.

Do you like BFE?

If so, Longview is the place for you...

The drive thru mom and pop Taco joint on the main strip near the interstate is the ticket.

Can’t remember the name, but we stop there every time we visit.

My contribution is minor, but if it is close I hope your love of good tacos closes the deal. Godspeed.

Longview is a lot like Marshall and Carthage

Idk if Carthage should be included here.

I spent 2 years in carthage playing baseball at Panola.

The city population is under 7000.

I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. We had to drive a half hour to a liquor store, 45 minutes to a bar.

The main form of entertainment there is going to the lake, which is more like a large pond.

I would have said Tyler is boring as shite 10-15 years ago

Now as a middle aged dude with a family, Tyler’s pretty bad arse

Great golf, lakes, food, pubs, and low cost of living.

And as someone who went to college there it’s absolutely fricking awful for anyone that does not have a family and actually likes city life.

I knew a pack of hot chicks from there at A&M. They all moved to Austin after graduation though. Tyler is richer and bigger, but Longview isn’t terrible... it’s better than anywhere in Louisiana. For recreation there’s a bunch of lakes near there and everyone in that neck of the woods (literally) seems to be a big golfer.

Kickass things about Longview:

- getting drunk at Applebee’s
- two chick fil a’s
- Shreveport
- gas station Shipley’s donuts

Meh, east Texas is pretty much one big blur.

Longview is closeish to Dallas though. And close to Shreveport.

I was in a band and we played a show there in the mid 2000's. I saw 2 meth deals happen in our hotel parking lot and later, ate at a Chinese restaurant that served meat loaf.
