LSU suddenly in title discussions because of Burrow

Sports reporters are discussing LSU’s sudden opportunity for a title, with Burrow as LSU’s QB.
Coach O’s selling point is really a simple one to Burrow, “You make us an immediate title contender, you fill a need, make us a threat to every team. Reporters and other coaches agree with me, you provide us the missing piece. Geaux Tigers”

Look, the kid may be great...but this is a reach of epic proportions. He is not proven to be an improvement at all, much less that much of a leap of improvement .

So a player who couldn't even win the starting job at a Big 10 program will come to LSU and win the national championship?

I haven't seen anybody report it yet especially since we haven't signed the guy yet. I was against having the young QB's sit behind DE last year because it was a wasted season that could've prepared a starter for this year's team that has a chance.
But, I would be ok if Burrow came in and put us in regular schedule as far as QB's go where you'd like to have guys in the program for a couple 2-3 years before starting. But that guy would have to be a player and it looks like Burrow is a player.

Is one of the QBs your family member or something? You seem very bent out of shape all over this board at the possibility of Burrow coming.
Sure, he hasn't proven to be an improvement, but none of our current QBs seem to be anywhere near ready at this point. Let this fan base have hope in something.

If he is the answer at QB, I hope we get him. The melt will be epic here if he goes elsewhere.

There are a lot of reasons to be optimistic about the kid.
1- he has put up good numbers in limited action.
2- he has been coached by Urban Meyer
3- he doesn't have to be coached up by our coaching staff much.
Reason two and three are huge. Its sad, but its true, and is probably the reason he has a legit shot at starting at LSU right away.

I think that's a reach but it is a selling point to Burrow. Whether we are title contenders are not remains to be seen but no doubt we will be a lot better offensively

He MAY be a missing piece, but there are still questions surrounding the offense.
I don’t know how they go from 6-6 to title contenders with the addition of a back up transfer QB.
I’m excited for the possibility of Burrow, but in no way do I think we’re a title contender the day he signs.

I'm not saying LSU is all of a sudden a national title contender. I do remember tOSU having three legit starting college QBs not long ago though. It is not super far fetched to think that their back up is better than anything LSU has to offer. Look at our recent history of QBs versus theirs.

So are you comfortable with what we got on our roster at QB? I am not...i think if anything it will raise the level of our current QBs. He was pretty good in high school and basically thats all we are going off of now with our current QBs on roster...I say let him come in and compete
