Most likley something in transportation, energy, medicine, communication, or food/water.
LiFi is supposedly just around the corner where the internet travels by a light bulb in your home.
But if AI ever becomes a relevant entity, it could make the world unrecognizable as we currently know it, maybe even for disasterous effects.

I really don’t think much of humanity is ready for the level of technology that’s here, much less coming.
I believe we’ll see a neo-Luddite movement in the near future. The pendulum has swung too far too fast.

How exactly would that be society altering like the internet? It’s not like many dudes are turning down sexual encounters as it is
There would be no consequence of pregnancy no matter how many women they slept with.

Lots of good answers here. The freaky thing is most of them are coming in our lifetimes. Many in the next 5-10 years.

I vote for when the terminators take over and kill humanity

Honestly, I think nothing on the horizon could change society such as the internet. The ability to share information in real time across the world's population, generally free of censorship affects everything. Sure AI is here or coming, but what good is it without the internet? As more and more things become digitized, the internet will only become more important.
Not that I'm not exceptionally bullish on the technology in the near future, it's that they are largely just a further extrapolation of the internet.
