If I had to handicap the West that top 8 seems about right, especially considering the SoS. I don't necessarily agree with the order and don't get why Denver is being so highly regarded, but those 8 seem to have the best shot at making it. I'm also assuming the Lakers make an in season trade to turn some of the youngsters and dead weight into more useful vets.

according to goldstein, its due to relative youth& health/expectation of internal development over a baseline of 46 wins last year

IMO, Denver is too high and Portland is too low.
