Ranking looks about right unfortunately

Jeez the perception of the program seems to be in a nosedive. It's sad.

Please stop with the meaningless spring game (scrimmage) stats!

Why? We beat good teams last year, our defense got better, and our offense has way more potential with better receivers and hopefully a better quarterback

Maybe, but they do return a lot of studs and add some nice pieces to their team. Offensively they should be really good. Moorhead is a very good offensive coach and has a good staff at MSU I actually think they are a pretty well rounded team for the most part. I expect them to make some noise in the west this season. I am not saying they will be the best team in the west but they have the pieces to really screw up a lot of teams season next year. Shoop is the DC and he is a fantastic coach. I think they will be a lot better than what people think. I think the staff down in Starkville is probably one of the more complete ones in the entire SEC on paper, but we will see how it all looks very soon, If I was a fan I would be very optimistic. The recruiting for them has really taken off as well

lol you're kidding right? We pretty much lucked into beating Auburn when they screwed up thinking they had it won at halftime and got cocky. That's it. That's the only decent team we beat last year.

won 9 games with the mighty SEC integrated in schedule, and barely lost to a #10 ND at a bowl we just went to last year.

losing two more games is rebounding?
After losing to a Sunbelt team? Yes.

LSU had like 773 yards Offense and 533 Passing in the Spring Game.
Dude, give this up, already. A TOUCH football practice proves absolutely nothing. We know zero about this offense or it’s capabilities. For that matter, until that first game is played, we don’t really know what we have on defense, either. With Aranda at the helm, the current starters and the talent coming in, we should be great. However, we don’t really know how well they’ll perform as a unit and we are relying on moving some players around to help us with DB depth. Additionally, if the offense performs below expectations , this defense will spend a lot of time on the field.

The SEC was terrible last year. How everyone doesn't see this confuses the hell out of me. LSU was embarrassed by state, lucked into beating Auburn (why Gus stopped running the ball is still a mystery), and lost to Bama. Out of the rest of the conference teams LSU played, Texas A&M had the best record with 7-6. The rest had an even or losing record. Then LSU ended the season by crapping the bed to a less talented ND squad.
The SEC isn't going to stay down like it was last year, and as far as off season moves went, every team improved excepted LSU and Ole Miss.
The ONLY reason LSU will be ranked in any pre-season poll will be so the media can hype up a "top 25 matchup" with Miami in Dallas.

Some bizarre reasons for ranking teams. He has Miami 9, but doesn't seem sure they can get past LSU.

If we crap out this season I guess the excuse will be the schedule was too hard and new offense.
Posted on 5/1/18 at 6:11 pm to Woodman
No big deal - Orgeron just needs to go 6-6, use the takes me more than 3 seasons excuse, need stability for recruiting and get a 3 year extension with a raise. Alleva and Orgeron got this one under control.
In the meantime, TAF down 16% this past contribution period after several points last year.

That's already the narrative. Muh hard schedule, muh new offense. However shite is really going to hit the fan when the 2019 recruiting class falls apart. That class has the potential to be incredible, and if it isn't Coach O's seat will be white hot.

That may have historically been the overall worst the SEC has ever been.
