Would you give up or restructure some of your retirement for a raise? Like I said earlier, if you live for 2p years after you retire you'll get almost $1 million in retirement.

Also your tax liability is 7.25% less than every one else's so add that back to your numbers.

Would you give up some of your bonus for a better work environment? The argument is pure fallacy as far as I'm concerned because you want teachers to give up something but I doubt you would be willing to give up anything in your current job.

Of course, based on previous discussions you feel teaching is a benign profession that anyone can do.

Would you agree there is a lot of wasted time in the military that needs to be fixed? I mean we can argue this for ANY profession that they have downtime and waste time.

Well, in some states you can be a substitute teacher with a GED lol. That's not your fault but yes, technically anyone can teach.

Professional Teaching Permit: To obtain a Professional Teaching Permit, you must have a minimum of a bachelor's degreein the content area in which you wish to teach.

Bet many don't know this...

You get paid by and your retirement is funded by taxpayer money so it's a reasonable question. There is x dollars to go around. Would you exchange them later for now?

And yes, many people give up money for better work environments every day. They also give up deferred income for income in the present all the time as well. Obviously you've never had a private sector job because you have no idea how it works.

Have I been talking about the military in the last few pages? No. I did tell you what I have done with my life and have been personal.

You are just attacking.

But it has been proven that these individuals have lower test scores, so can anyone really teach?

Apparently anyone with a GED or higher. I'm just using that as an example because you said not everyone can teach.

Move to Texas and coach then. I’m 9 years in and at 78k. Teach 3 classes a day. 430 dollar daily rate.

I've had several private sector jobs before I ever started teaching, I've actually expressed those before if you had bothered to read

private sector jobs also have other benefits related to spouses that teaching does not. If I die my benefits end with me, they do not carry on to my spouse. So sure I can earn more than the average person on retirement but if something happens to me, my spouse is essentially fricked, especially if I was the earner of the relationship

Which is not accurate, so not sure why you use that. You need a bachelors degree and certification in Louisiana. You can be a long term sub with a GED or higher.

because they can't

Don't be that guy now. You think tduecen can affect change. What have you changed re: military? Where is your VA reform? Step up...

I don't really think welding gives a very good representation of how most college educated workplaces work.

Because you didn't pay for your retirement benefits. Why is your spouse entitled to retirement benefits afforded to you by taxpayers? Anybody that leaves retirement benefits to their spouse was saved by them.

No you're just trolling trying to get me off topic.

I answered your questions, sad you have to be a smartass with your replies.

Maybe he doesn't have a problem with the military?

I don't agree with most of what he's saying, but you are just attacking him. He's asked a couple of genuine questions where he just wanted an answer to which neither of you have answered.

Welding may not, but it is private sector, how many times have you stepped into a classroom?

Man, I'm paying into this year after year and then if I die my spouse isn't entitled to what i've paid into year after year.... sounds shitty to me
