Mack was 1st in 2015 and 2016, and 4th in 2017. Jordan was #1 just last year.

So right now Jordan is the best in the league?

If you want to look at just one year, then yes, but I don't like to take a myopic view of a players performance.

Damn you're dumb.

So Roethlisberger is better than Brees right now? He was last year according to PFF

Spent some capital but guys with his potential aren’t available in the bottom half of round 1. After essentially getting 4 first rounders last draft, we can afford the gamble.
Except that Drew’s age makes the gamble even more of a deal.
This is going “all in” for 18 and 19. If Davenport ends up like Kikaha or one of the other many defensive flops by the FO, we’re in deep shite.

The "going all in phrase is getting gay. This draft pick has nothing to do with "going all in," it's just a guy the Saints liked, they probably would have done the same if we won a SB last year or Brees retired. We had an insane amount of injuries last year on D 2nd half of season, a ton of depth on D with everyone healthy, we would be fine if Davenport doesn't pan out.

2 consecutive first rounders and a 5th on a raw project is going all in for a short 2 year window.

No it's not, it's simply moving up to get your man.

And where did Khalil Mack play his college ball? Where was he picked?
Think about these answers before you start running your mouth in this thread.

No he isnt, but Cameron Jordan is better then Khalil freaking Mack and Everson Griffin.
Players can improve; players can get better coaching; players can even fall off.
Cam is the best DE in football. I dont need anyone to tell me he is or isnt. Guy plays every down and dominates run or pass.

I wasn't knocking Davenport, I actually love the pick. It was in response to a disagreement on who the best DE in the NFL is. I took the unpopular opinion of Mack based off of the last few years, while others took Jordan based off last year.

People on here don't grasp things of that nature. I'm not just speaking of MD, I'm talking about any rookie we drafted who doesn't make the ProBowl that year is considered a failure by 90% of the posters.

is QB the same as DE?

So we use PFF ratings for DE, but not QB? Ok, gotcha this is an argument where we pick and choose which stat we use.

Ditto with me on Mack. Let's just agree to disagree on this one.

PFF sucks, just watch the game and you can know. We aren't women who need PFF to help us decide who is good. I'm not saying you are, I just hate any and all PFF references and people who use that in an argument.

I agree, I only used it when it was thrown at me
