There are one or two Bama guys who know their stuff. They called PS2 to Bama early in January and are on record saying that as long as Sam P is at Bama, Sopsher is signing with the Tide.
They also at one point thought R Lawrence, D White and K Joseph were going to sign with the Tide. They are wrong sometimes too.

Watch Phillips this year. Now that he's picked up the mental part of the game his physical talent is going to shine.

Yes, Sopsher will start at LSU, twice. Both times playing for Alabama.

This is the type of excuses that we're all getting tired of.
We've known this is a problem area for YEARS now, what is O doing to get it fixed? Throwing up your arms and just giving an excuse is not the way to go about it.
If you're okay giving excuses and being a mediocre program, that's fine, it's not good enough for me.

LSU needs to reverse the trend of Amite players going to Bama. Sophser is as good a chance as they are going to get at doing that.

That's it, where is this "barber shop"? I'm going to get answers, if they aren't to inbred to speak English.

He's going to Bama. Just accept it now and move on.
O knows how high profile this is, and he cannot afford to lose this one. This is out of proportion to Sophster’s actual value, which is high.
My hunch is that Sophster wants Bama, but O lays a bunch of cash in front of him, and he chooses LSU. I just don’t think O will be outbid on this one.

I agree the guy wants to win championships. We've been saying this is our year for probably 6 years. These young men want to win now it's the microwave generation I can't wait sorry it is what it is!!!!!! Win or lose recruits simple math.

Saw other posts, such as Goldrush25, that says the blame they are laying at Orgeron's feet, or on his head, is "not getting it fixed". Indeed. That's where most of us are and is fully warranted.
That being said, I do not think Orgeron is throwing his hands up and giving up over Sopsher. But you are right, Amite (and some places along my old stomping grounds in N La to a lesser degree) we aren't the #1 brand or school- and it has been going on for years. It can, and should be, fixed; at least most of them, including Amite.
You won't get them all, no excuses needed. But there is no excuse to not have the most advantageous or 'incumbent position' in places like Amite.

These posts are perfectly reasonable. Yet some O boyzzz downvote no matter what.

I would've expected Orgeron to agressively go after things like the barber there in Amite (same for eye doctor in Monroe, but different situation). One of the benefits to the 'one of us' narrative (which is just an attack narrative). Regardless, Orgeron has the connections to do just that being a native; one would thing Les would've just the fact you're LSU's HC, but it doesn't always work that way.
There's numerous things you can do. Starting with HS coaches and creating the perception the barber is a one-horse trick and his association limits your options. Then there's the good ole public ostracizing. You can also help other players out with preferred walkon that otherwise wouldn't have a shot as a PR campaign(also: evangel, West Monroe, Parkway, OCS/Oak Grove/Haynesville). Report him to the NCAA (true or not, parents would shy away from anyone who might be corrupt). Plant stories about him being in it for profit, not the kids.
Like I said, there are many ways to about it.
ETA: we had some on this board ripping Coach Jason (QB, Quad) for being in it for himself. But I've never seen anyone name the barber AND go after him. Why is that? Why do not fans, boosters, and people from Ponamsky's office go after such people here? No, they go after other posters and a coach who comes here and says he loves LSU and is working with a QB who wants an offer from LSU.

No reasonable person has said Orgeron shouldn’t be putting effort into turning Tangi back into LSU territory. Most people have said it’s April, and it’s too early to be conceding defeat.
Case in point, yet another person from the Tangi area, one who was very vocal about the issues you described, posted that per someone “close to the Bama side” aka Petitto now believes all three of Lee, Palmer, and Sopsher are going to LSU.

No matter what any nega-tiger says, Coach O is a phenomenal recruiter. All you have to do is stop listening to the noise from people who DON'T know and listen to what these recruits say
That's not how you determine how good a recruiter is. It's determined by the quality of the signing class. Last year it was good but not great. This year is shaping up to be the same, but there's a long way to go.
If O doesn't start getting top 5 recruiting classes every year, then he's not recruiting well enough.
