Front load washer

Bought a pedestal for our Samsung front load washer. Can I lay this thing on its side or back to attach the pedestal and then stand it back up or is getting a buddy to help me lift it up the only way? Google searches have turned up a bunch of “while not recommended, it’s ok it taking caution”. I figure it’ll be on its side/back for 5-10 min max.

Had one for a while, never again.

Have a LG on a pedestal. Just place the pedestal where you want it and then set the washer on top. Then make sure the whole thing is level. I can't imagine a reason to lay it down.
And I'll echo the other comment. When this machine dies I'll never buy another front loader.

Owned one once, never again. As the repair guy told me "water is not meant to be held in by a door".

While you're doing this, go ahead and clean the coin trap. Mine had over $4 in it

you can lay it on it's back.
but if i had my way, i would get rid of our front load and get a top load.

I'm going to bookmark this thread. I've been telling my wife forever that they're a bad idea. Next time she mentions it, I'll just send her the link to this thread.
Nobody say anything good about them now.

Just get a Speed Queen top loader, official washing machine of TD. We love ours.

Don't need a pedestal for a Speed Queen.

Everyone of my friends who have the front loaders were convinced by the wife to buy it because it looked cool. Everyone who has them, both women and men, hate them.
You can wash a folded handkerchief in with the other clothes and, at the end of the cycle, the handkerchief is still folded.
I still use the old 20 year old reliable top loader XL Kenmore and have only changed out the dogs on the agitator as far as any maintenance.
