Since O is better than Saban, anything less than National Championship game appearances every single year is failure.

That means O should be fired if he’s worse than 10-2.

No moving goalposts now...

I would Guess it’s because a Saban took over the probram in 2000 after a decade where LSU went 48-53 and O took over in 2017 after a decade when LSU went 82-30 and played in 2 championships.

Just by the Numbers Les had way more success at LSU. Saban was considered way better because he built the program from a middle of the road to shitty team into A sustainable powerhouse.

Oabother way to look at it is that Nick Saban won 4 more games than his predecessor

Oh lost 1 more game than Les’ last season.

Are you sure that's what he wants to do? Last year he hired a coordinator to run an offense based on the jet sweep with shifts and motions. I'm pretty damn sure that O knew that Canada ran that system because we all did. There were threads all over board with links to YouTube videos of his offense.

What kind of changes will be made during this season by O if the offense starts to sputter? I wonder what kind of offense he's gonna want to run then.

No. On of the biggest issues with O is that he really seemed to absolutely no idea what Canada’s offensive system was when he hired him. Hence all the issues and meddling leading to Canada’s departure.

O really is clueless apparently.

Go look at 0's comments on the offensive scheme, he has no idea what he's talking about and just throws shite out there to try and appease mouth-breathing fans. Concentrate on the phrase "quarterback runs".

quote:

"As things materialized, you start thinking about things," Orgeron said. "I looked at other places and seen other candidates. I told (special assistant to the head coach) Derek (Ponamsky), 'Go get the stats from when Steve took over.' I said if we have that, we'll be fine."

The stats from when E took over in an interim role using Cam Cameron's playbook.

quote:

"We're putting together the offense the fans have really always wanted," Orgeron said. "We're going to do quarterback runs. We have Lowell Narcisse who can be a great quarterback. Justin McMillan can run the quarterback runs. Myles is a very proficient passer. We'll have all those things in our offense from a spread look.

Not what offense works best for personnel, but an offense "the fans" want. Again, he's not competent, he's just trying to appease people to take heat off of himself. Oh, and quarterback runs! Wow, that's a crazy scheme!

quote:

"We're not going back in the box. We want to create space and put the ball in our playmaker's hands. We have to have that short quick passing game to open up the run. We're going to go some 4-wide receivers. We'll go 3-wide and throw the ball. We want to be 50-50. We're going to utilize what our guys do best and Steve can do that."

Interesting, in some plays they will go 4 wide and in some they will go 3 wide. They are also interested in getting the balls in the hands of good players.

quote:

"We have researched and developed some quarterback runs that everyone on our staff knows," Orgeron said. "We're bringing in guys that are experts at it and we're going visit guys that are experts at it. We going to do the things our fans have always wanted to do."

They're going to visit with people who know quarterback runs? I don't even know what that means.

quote:

"We could (use two guys), it could happen," Orgeron said. "I would like one to be the starter. Obviously if Myles is the starter, there won't be a lot of quarterback runs. It'll be stuff conducive to what he can do. If Lowell is the starter - or Justin, we'll give him a chance - it'll be the same passing game, it'll just be more quarterback runs."

Same game plan, just different!

quote:

"Everything is conducive to the quarterback gaining confidence, the quarterback being protected. Moving the pocket, roll outs and if the quarterback can beat you with his feet, we're going to have quarterback runs."

I leave you with one final encapsulation:

quote:

But, we don't want to ever want to get back to running the football in the box. We want to be spread, let it go, 50-50 and be multiple."

Be fair. You complain that O will not fit the offense to his personnel. Yet the very article you site says:
quote:

Orgeron is confident that whichever quarterback the Tigers end up going with, Ensminger will fit the offense to their skill sets.

Then when O says he will use different plays depending on the QB that wins the job-- plays that fit the skill set of the QB-- you bitch about that, calling it "same game plan, just different." Make up your mind. Do you want him to plan based upon the skill set of the personnel in the game or not?

I also don't get your beef with having 3 wides on some plays and 4 wide on others.

Also-- the fans here at the Rant, claim to be experts and know just what offense is best for LSU. Yet, you complain O is going to do what the fans (aka Rant experts) want?

In all your wisdom, you cannot figure out the offense we will run? Perhaps the is a good thing. Hell, since you're so smart and are stumped, the other SEC HCs will certainly be fooled.

Les Miles' conservative offense would have been enough for 11 wins last season. At least he knew what he wanted to run.

Les hired a guy that would run his offense, he didn't go off the rails and hire a guy the rant told him too that runs an offense he doesn't even want.

Agreed. You'd have also assumed the head coach would know what RB is in the game on crucial downs... and you'd have been wrong.

I'd love to go back and take a look at all of the offenses O has said he wants to run throughout his tenure here so far

I was starting to do that, but it's a tedious task. At some point before the season I'll get around to it.

Maybe I'm being naive or just don't want to believe it, but I can't see a scenario where the head coach blindly hires a coordinator without at least watching some of his game film.

Saban working with Dinardo's leftovers WAY MORE CHALLENGING than Orgeron working with Miles' leftovers.

I can See a scenario where a HC hires a guy who has a bunch of accolades because he promises in his job interview to get the best, but doesn’t understand what makes his offense work.

Your a Moran.

Etling had 27 pass attempts against Auburn. So not sure where you getting 38 dropbacks from. Also if you're comparing the last game under Miles tenure you are a complete fricking moron! And it's moron, not moran!

it was definitely spread in his initial interim presser, then USC offense, then he hired Canada which fits neither, back to the USC offense, then turns out he wanted the Ensminger offense all along (whatever that may be)

So then they're telling recruits we'll be running things similar to what the Eagles did in the Super Bowl and now during spring its actually McVay's offense.

I'm probably missing a few
