First off Orgeron won't have another 3 years for that to happen, which it will not take that long.

I disagree, did you even watch the Spring Game? if you did then you saw on hand what a top 5 defense in the country looks like and they will be on the prowl in Tiger stadium this year. LSU will surprise to the upside!

You must have been watching the 2017 spring game. I saw a bunch of 4 wide shotgun formations with one back. Only saw the i formation in spurts. For the most part it was majority spread looks.

Until we recruit a legit QB who can come in to play as a freshman (see Georgia, Bama, Ole Miss, etc) we are always 3 years away.

I'm not talking about it as if they did it a lot, I said it was a few times, but they still did it. Just like they ran the basic option outside with the QB kicking it out to the RB. I mean those are plays that only a LSU would still run. Lol

The Power I replaces one WR with a third back (fullback or running back) in the backfield, set up to one side of the fullback.

The tigers did use the normal I formation a few times. They never placed 3 backs in the backfield in the Power I formation.

Look, man don't make an ant hill into a mountain, I don't wanna keep going on about this BS. Whether they lined up in it and then motioned out of it into another formation the point is I could care less. My main point is that he's still doing some of the old shite that I thought he would have completely moved on from, but we'll see because it's real early, to early to be fussing about this BS. Also, the Hback is both TE and RB, so when he's off to the side of the FB like that it's the Power I.

My question would be what is your issue with the I formation?

I'll never defend Tepper, but we are in year 3 of Aranda and his full defense is still not installed.

Difference is his partial defense is still pretty darn good.

Chip Kelly is going to have a top 25 offense THIS year. But we need 3 years.

So O is going into his third year but needs a minimum three more?

That’s worse than Lou Tepper needing five years to install his defense.

If you think about it, it's mind boggling that we have a perennial top 10 team from a talent standpoint and can't develop a competent passing game. There are plenty of high school teams that do it.

So 2 years into Ed O's new 8 yr/ $90m guaranteed contract?

I'm sure you're being sarcastic but you do know his contract is $3.5MM per year for 5 years with a possible $1.5MM in incentives per year. Buyouts de-escalate every year

No he won't. They have no one who can run his style of offense there. Plus, everyone already runs some type of it in the Pac 12 and know how to defend it.

I guess we'll see.

I know one thing for sure, their offense will be much better than ours, though that isn't a high standard to meet.
