Gowdy must have drafted this. There are noticeable limp-wristed portions.
Ok, that's good.
Well, that's not good.
And Comey is now part of a general movement to ridicule POTUS and place his presidency in jeopardy. Additionally, Comey leaked these memos, knowing they are classified and did so with the intent of making the POTUS look bad and with the intent of spawning a SC.
Given the above, we now have a problem in this memo.
So, the problem here is that Comey is just a flawed man? No legal issues to pursue? Is that the message Gowdy wants us to take from this? It would appear that's the case.
So little man Gowdy is writing off the possibility that Comey was part of a conspiracy or engaged in illegal activity. Comey is just flawed and apparently out of his depth.
Finally, former Director Comey leaked at least one of these memos for the stated purpose of spurring the appointment of Special Counsel
But I thought there was no animus, Trey.
Well, if this doesn't prompt one to look at conspiracy, what does?
Well this seems nice but it's pretty weak. That fits in nicely with Gowdy's MO.

I don't think they were using this as their opportunity to make charges, rather they were taking a victory lap. I fully expect line-by-line charges to crop up next week once everyone has time to digest this and beat back the reporting sympathetic to Comey.
Of course this will be after The Orange One takes the lead by laying out his expectations via Twitter blasts (which has already begun).
