Crumbs by pelosi's standards.

Last year about $480 and about 30 hours of my time. Our 11 year old did about 30 hours also and donated about $15, which is a fortune to her since we don't really do allowances, pretty proud of that. I donate to NPR, Habitat, some autism charities that aren't Autism Speaks, couple of local homeless places that aren't Salvation Army. I also empty my loose change into the Ronald McDonald House change box at McDonald's.
This year I want to work on a habitat for humanity homebuild, it looks awesome.

So basically crumbs. Why don't you give more?

My experience is those demanding to know how much others have given....have probably contributed very little to society themselves.

Remember the parable of the rich man and the poor man. God judges as a percentage of your overall disposable income, not raw amounts.
My 4 year old gave over a dollar so basically none of you are getting into heaven.
But for a proper answer had I actually planned our financial situation properly we probably would have given more, last year was a good year, but we didn't see it coming.
Also, where's your contribution in this dick waving contest?
And furthermore, isn't it incumbent upon conservatives and Christians to give to charity, since this is broadly speaking in keeping with their view of what society should be, while us big government liberal socialists just sit back and let Uncle Sam do the thinking for us?

You really don't expect to get any honest answers from here do you?

What year do you think it is? 2008?
The board liberal count on this board has grown substantially. Sure, it's still a largely conservative/libertarian type board, but it ain't like there aren't any liberals in here anymore.

I hate trump but am not exactly liberal.
I give about ~5% of my income after taxes. I volunteer at the local animal shelter taking care of sick dogs. The wife does that and volunteered at the science museum, but is switching to a homeless shelter of some sort.
We give most of our money to homeless charities. But we also support some advocacy groups, independent media, and animal shelters. We also support MAPS, which is into psychedelic research for things like PTSD. We have a connection to that group.
I also give to political candidates, and am paying for part of my nieces / nephews colleges. Neither of which is a charity but IMHO part of giving. This represents another 2-3% of our income after taxes.

Liberals don't give to charity, and generally speaking they don't pay any income tax either. They are mostly all either welfare scum or rich assholes who find every loophole they can to make sure they have zero tax liability and in either case they will still bitch that you need to pay your "fair share"

This is just false. Most of my friends would be considered by liberals by this board. Most are professionals, and have household income above 100k. I know flaming liberals that clear over 500k. My tax bill is usually pretty hefty.

Last year at Christmas mass I dropped a bill in the collection basket as it came around... my 10 year old son sitting next to me said "do we really have to pay for this?"
