What percentage of your check (outside of taxes) goes to help the less fortunate and those which cannot help themselves?

Depends on my tax bracket, but usually my donations go through my property taxes to my state government for distribution.

I guess they don't care about the poor. What a bunch of selfish cretins.

I'll start.
Im not a liberal but I give 10% (gross) to my church. I give to several non-religious organizations such as American Heart Association, American Cancer society, and Children's hospital. Those contributions were about half again what I gave to the church.
I also work one day a month at the West Alabama Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity.

They don’t believe in voluntarily giving.

Not sure of the actual percentage but, since I just filed my taxes, I can tell you that I donated just over $9,000.00 ($9,237.00 to be exact) to various charities last year.
That does not include the 10 hours a week I volunteer at the local homeless shelter or the other time spent helping with fundraising for a few other charities.

Why don't you choose to give more?
