What's the least amount of tip that you have ever given?

Dear Facebook,
I usually consider myself a fairly good tipper. 15-20% minimum and for good service 30-40%. However last night I had not the best experience with a waitress - nothing was terrible but she just wasn't that engaged in the table. The last straw was that I waited over 20 minutes for her to bring my credit card back after giving it to her. The manager finally came to the table and to basically ask why we were still there and if I needed anything. I told him that I was still waiting for my credit card and he walks to the waitress that was opening a bottle of wine at the next table and the card with the credit card slip was in her apron. It could have been because I had a few too many drinks but I was just a tad annoyed.
I left $2 on a $150 bill and fell bad about it today. Please tell me that you guys have done something similar before to cheer me up

You saw her; you could have done this. You also could have gotten up after 5 minutes and ask someone where she was with your card.

Maybe because

And,

nothing was terrible
isn't a reason to leave freaking $2 on a $150 bill. Go back today and give this poor girl some cash.

Yep. Go hand her a $20.

Go back today and leave her $50.

Ive given 1cm before. Just for a second, just to see how it feels.
Seriously though, never go in half cocked. Either tip or dont.

If it a restaurant where you are spending $150 I'm sure the girl makes enough tips to get by.

I get the frustration, I probably would've left like $15. If it's bad service I'd go down on the percentage, but not as drastically as you did.

If you really wanted to send a message, you should have left a penny. But seriously just leave a decent tip, it won’t hurt you. Then make the manager comp you in some kind of way.

Right...... I guarantee it was more like 5-10 minutes. People drastically exaggerate restaurant wait times. If it was really over 20 minutes you are an idiot for not just flagging her down.

She paid money to wait on you after tipping out the bussers and bar. That's shitty.

i've left 0 when the service was that bad, and I still don't feel bad about it

I've left $0.01 when I have received terrible service. It has to be downright terrible, which is rare, but it has happened.
For your experience I would've left about $10-$15, but that's strictly based on your description. Tipping is just that: something extra for exceptional service. This idea that tipping is required is absurd; it's fundamentally opposed to the definition of "tipping." It's a reward for service, and it should directly reflect the service received.
I am usually a 25% tipper. Most times I feel service is good. When it's poor I like to get an understanding of why. If it's beyond the waitress's power I tip her well. Your case could've been a simple "oh shite I completely forgot" case due to being busy, having a bad day or some other honest happenstance. In that case I would still tip the fair amount of 20%. It truly is situational.

but do not confuse bad service with bad kitchen... just a thought

I left a penny at Pinetta's back in the 80's. Service was horrendous.

Oh I didn't.
In one night, it took 30 minutes to order apps, 20 more to get the apps, 15 more to order food, lost a round of drinks for my group of 3, got the drink orders wrong, and then "lost" the check
The food was actually pretty good at the spot

If this is not an exaggeration, you're crazy for still being there at that point.
