How come we always haggle prices on cars and real estate but nothing else?

Always looking for a deal on a new car or house, but not the new home stereo system at Best Buy. Or anything else for that matter.

Best buy is the best place to haggle. Most people dont realize they should be.

Because nobody wants to wait in a line for an hour while some douchebag tries to save $20

They're multi-faceted negotiations with quite a few variables at play.
Buying a car or (especially) house is more similar to a business acquiring another business than it is like buying a stereo.

Negotiating is expected in most other parts of the world.

You don't usually buy other expensive things.
People do negotiate when the price leaves room for both to win.

There are plenty of options available that don't require me to bargain like in a third world marketplace.
Less of you hagglers is desirable, not more. Whenever I stand in line behind someone trying to argue about an expired coupon, i don't imagine the positives of more stupid people begging for a bargain.

You haggle at Best Buy? I hate the concept of haggling. I’d rather just know I left nothing on the table. Less buyers remorse this way

If you’re not haggling at furniture stores and jewelry stores, you’re doing it wrong.

Exactly
Internet makes it earlier with price matching

Prices on cars and real estate are set high with the expectation that there will be haggling. They are also large purchases, so people will try to get the best price possible
People also negotiate salaries

Earlier than what? That makes NO sense. Maybe you should go haggle on a vocabulary class.
I once haggled on some cast iron skillets.

Who are you going to haggle with the minimum wage cashier? Also lines checking would suck so much if everyone did that

I absolutely hate it. No matter what I end up paying, I always feel like I got screwed.
Posted on 4/15/18 at 2:52 pm to yellowfin
Cause you're hungover, AGAIN, or just cause I irritate you?

You know the old saying, "A good transaction is where both parties feel a little bit like they were screwed."
