Lots of places you can get better prices by just asking.
I know Lowe’s let their floor employees drop prices by 10% with no manager approval. Get manager involved and you can get even better deals.

My cousin travels a lot with his job. He claims he gets to hotels late in the evening and you can beat them down on price, since the room is likely to be vacant for the night.

I’ve had plenty of water and Popeyes for lunch. A Bloody Mary, a few beers and now a screw driver.

Finally starting to come around

I once haggled at Wal Mart over the price of a patio swing that was in front of the store. I was able to get if for 10% off and fully assembled. Joke was on me because the Wal Mart associate who assembled it had to be borderline retarded. It literally came crashing down during a thunderstorm.

I haggle the shite out of some furniture. Get free shipping and tell them I have so much in cash and I walk out of here with furniture or nothing at all. They usually find a way to lower the price to accommodate me.

More big box stores are starting to price match online prices. I guess that's a form of haggling.

I will say I hate haggling, although sometimes I'm unintentionally good at it because I'm so frugal. The best haggle is walking away, and I have no qualms about walking away if I don't like the price. Thats usually when they get desperate and throw very low prices at you.

Every time you get bids from different contractors you’re haggling, and you live with your decisions too.

You're dealing with thousands of dollars with cars and real estate. Saving 50 bucks on a TV is not worth the hassle.

If you have to take a loan out on something, there will be negotiations. Knocking $10 off electronics is not worth my time these days.
