We were debating the thrill of cheating. Do you hook up over the high of cheating and getting away with it or just need to get piece of arse....

Starts out just opportunity arse...but the thrill and the high are what keeps you doing it.
It's the rush. The taboo nature of it. It starts out small...there are the little things, the flirting, the "oh no, we shouldn't"...
Next thing you know you're in each other's arms and kissing and the chemistry is exploding. It's an incredible high. A damn drug.
Then the sneaking around, what a rush.
And sure it's Stupid
But it's exhilarating. And every time you swear it's the "last time"
That "we can't do this anymore".
But everything stemming from the dying relationship at home simply serves to reinforce the bad behaviour. To drive you to your lover's arms in a stolen embrace, in a secret place.
And my God is it hot.
Because it isn't real. It's a fantasy. And it only ends in tragedy but while you are on it the ride is incredible.
The only hard step is the first one.
After that it's as easy as can be. The excuses flow like wine.
And people in the throes of a torrid affair will do damn near anything to protect and continue it.
Even when they're caught. Even when they've been damn near busted in the act, they'll try and weasel their way out of it.
Behaviour not unlike a junkie.
They are in a fog. They either refuse to see or just don't care about who they hurt because it feels so damn good. And there's no cure. Relapse is high.
The best advice is not to start. Because you'll fall in that hole no matter how "careful" you try to be.

I've never cheated. My husband says that he hasn't either, and I trust him. He's had past issues with drinking, but he's always been honest in our conversations.
I could never be that hurtful to a partner. There have been plenty of propositions over 20 years, but "no thanks" has always been easy. I enjoy being able to look myself in the mirror.

I don't ever actually CHEAT, but sometimes when I'm alone I try to hook up with younger chicks to see if I've still got it. I do.
