Any derelicts in your family?

Got home from work yesterday evening and was about sit down and enjoy a good supper when my phone rang. Looked down at the phone, didn't recognize the number and was about to cancel the call but something told me to answer it. To my surprise it was my cousin who I haven't seen or heard from in quite a long time. He called me to let me know he moved into a house not far from my house. The whole time I'm on the phone with him (about 10 minutes), I'm waiting for him to ask me for money and sure enough he did. No, I didn't give him any money.
Just to give you a little history of my cousin Kevin, he's in his mid 40's, a very talented individual, for years he worked as a machinist, made a good living off of it, but years of drug and alcohol abuse took all of that away. Now he doesn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. Most of the time, he shacks up with some desperate woman he met God knows where until she gets tired of putting up with his shite and boots him to the curve. He has five children by 3 different women and he never paid a lick of child support to any of them. Been in and out of jail for child support and DUI's (convicted felon). I'm surprised he's still alive.
What say OT.

This guy with no money who has drugs and beer problems moved next to you...so the point of this post is to let everyone know you live in a shitty neighborhood?

You must live in a pretty shitty place if that guy can move into the area

My first cousin married a Cousin Eddie type.
Not exaggerating either. One year he tried to sell me (and every male at the Christmas party) penis enlargement pills. I was about 12 at the time.
Another year he passed out on the ground in the doorway of his brother-in-laws very large uptown house in New Orleans. He was essentially a speed bump for people going in and out of the house for an hour.
He had business cards that said "Sandwich Technician and KISS Army General". He worked at Subway and wore a leather KISS jacket.

Yep. Step kids dad. Never pays child support. We inevitably get a check from his tax returns every year.
Except last year.
The SO called to see what had happened a couple weeks ago.
He said he "didn't feel like filing his taxes last year."

He moved near me, not next to me and I just wanted to know others experience with derelict relatives.

My cousin called me the Black Sheep of the family once.
This from a guy who was given everything by his dad, divorced twice after cheating both wives.
But claims to have never had one drink of alcohol or smoked a cig/doob in his life.
Frick Him

Every family has a few
You learn to just ignore them but remember they are still family.

He was fun until he hit you up for money.
Every.Single.Time.
I drove him to the beer store once to re-stock the Thanksgiving party beer for the family. He didn't come inside to help or pay or anything. And when I got back in my car, I realized all my loose change from my cup holder was gone.
Mind you, I'm about 21 in this scenario and he's about 55.

Yes
One offshoot/branch is ridiculously pathetic and has suffered tragedy after tragedy. Lots of kids, no money, not doing much in the way of work, and all the time talking about how they know God will provide
Which he might, but it's not Satan that has your family on food stamps, idiot
