Great for the secondary market buyers though.

This world became a lot more absurd when Jaguar, Maserati, and Porsche started making SUVs.

The damn thing is beautiful. I looked at one prior to getting my MDX. My uncle, who is a master mechanic, swears against Jaguar as a whole unless you have the ability and know-how to fix them.

I knew a very wealthy man (he’s dead now) who was self-made and would never brag about his wealth. He got caught cheating by his wife and bought her a Jag. A year later he confided in me- “Füt, by many standards I am a wealthy man. But I simply cannot afford that mother-fricking Jaguar.”

Jags are certainly eye candy and more reliable now than they’ve probably ever been.

But pass. There’s too many other good choices out there.

Buy two, one to drive and the other to keep in the shop.

ETA: Someone beat me to it. Seriously, why would you buy a Jag when you can get something comparable with a better backed name for the same price?

It is a sexy car, but you can get better for the money.

If you are buying a SUV/CUV, you might as well get a functional one. If functional is not your thing go with a sport sedan or even a sports car for her.

It is sexy though and I would drive it. I would never buy one though.

My dad just got the S model, with the 3 liter supercharged 6. It's incredible. The interior and tech features are impressive. The parking assist uses several cameras and some CGI tech to give the driver a very accurate areal view of their own car, from what would be about 15 feet above the car. It's cool as shite.

The supercharged 6 sounds really cool and the car is shockingly fast for an SUV.

The rest of these guys are just spouting car brand loyalty and sour grapes.

If you are going to the Jag/Rover dealership anyways you should test drive a Velar. They look damn good in person:

Thoughts:

I drive Jaguars and I didn t like it. Ive had a 2011 XF, 2013 XJ Supersport, 2015 F type R, and now have a 2017 XJL 'R'. I got them all at Aston Martin of Tampa over the years and with exception of the 11 XF I loved them. The F typs R was the most exciting car Ive ever owned, and the ppl who berate Jaguar because of Ford (whose association ended in 2008) know nothing. Tata has poured hundreds of millions into these new models and they re first class.

HOWEVER last year my wife and I drove to my son's in Naples, FL and stopped in Tampa to look at new F paces.. I told her we could trade off the F type (which is as far from a family car as u can get}. We reserved an F pace to drive for a couple days and at first glance it's stunning even for an SUV. But, the ride is terrible and regardless how you adjust all things seats, dynamics, speed, etc. it rides rough. It leans in corners, is noisy, understeers, and the computerization will drive you mad. In both our opinions it wasn't as good as the Lincoln MKX SUV we had a few years ago.

We drove out with the XJL we have now and don t regret it.

Theres my opinion

Oh and yes I do have pics of all :-))

I liked the looks of them when they first came out and looked into getting one, but turns out they're pretty small for a large family, so I stayed with the Cady...but switching to the new Lincoln Navigator.

I sort of looked at it but it was too small. We went with the Volvo XC90

How are you liking the 90? We just hit 10k in our 60 and it's been great. My wife turns off some of the standard safety features though, says they're distracting.
