They wouldn't be drip drip dripping it out if there wasn't some pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. They're building it up for some kind of bombshell (real or manufactured).

Theory: The "bombshell" will be that Trump got her pregnant and then paid her to have an abortion. This will drop right before the midterms in an attempt to get evangelicals to stay home and get that "blue wave" they're all promising us is coming.

It isn't. That's why nobody cares expect the left wing propaganda media outlets.

Speaking only for myself here, but the political climate in this country has long pushed me past the point of considering the morality of politicians. I get disgusted when I see people lionize politicians on the left or the right. They aren't better than your average person.

The best of us don't run for office anymore. That day has long since passed us by. Why would the best of us run in this climate?

So why exactly is this a story that it seems the media is trying to make into a big deal?

Politics in American is a game with two teams. The other team is always going to try and make you look bad. If you have an affair with a porn star while you are married (particularly when your wife just had a kid) then the other side is going to try and make a big deal out of it. Trump's opponents will do anything to hurt Trump and this is low hanging fruit plus it is salacious as hell and sex still sells. Of course the media will eat this up. It's not hard to understand.

The reason for this is simple. Public office at the local level is aweful. It's time-consuming, petty, and it doesn't pay worth a damn. It costs more money to campaign and win local public office than one could ever dream of making while employed in it.

People who are responsible and corruption free typically cannot afford it, so they stay out. They never grind it out at the local levels to rise through the ranks.

So, while you do get some hard-working do-gooders at the local level, the vast majority are those who will at least bend a little because the wealthy developers and big local businesses are the only ones who can afford to finance a campaign. From the start, you basically have a tainted talent pool.

While the salary goes up as one leaves local politics and moves up, so does the cost of a campaign, and so do the pockets of those financially invested in the outcome of an election.

Short short version: good people don't run for big office because good people can't afford it. Good people can't afford it because elections are so expensive that the only people who can afford them are wealthy stakeholders. Wealthy stakeholders drive corruption because they are the ones who stand to gain/lose the most from elections.

Then, there's the whole activist wing of identity politics which is typically used by very corrupt people to shield themselves from criticism and build a political machine that is relatively inexpensive to maintain.

Cash is king in politics, and the average person has too much cash to lose to participate, while the honest have too little to gain.

They need to do better. A billionaire screwing a porn star doesn't rate high on many people's shock meter. Hell, it's kind of expected. With great power comes great responsibility.

Nah... he was married with a new baby. What he did was wrong. No question about that. It's also between he and his wife. I'm honestly not sure what some of you libs expect people to do. I voted for Ben Carson in the primary. He, quite obviously, didn't win. So I am left to choose between Hillary, who goes against everything I stand for, and Donald, who is, admittedly, flawed, but better represents my views. Was I supposed to vote for Hillary because Trump slept with a porn star 10 years ago? Or just not vote?

The allegation is that the cash payment to shut her up was made with campaign monies. That is why it is important to liberals. It is a gotcha.

Who’s talking about how you should have voted? Your biz IMO. The long smear of morality is what this Pres is bringing to the country is the ultimate point. If the GOP is going to shrug and say no biggie..then you should never utter Bill Clinton’s infidelities again.

Suddenly libs have become awfully prudish about language and sex outside of holy matrimony, or at least they would have us believe as much.

Just as conservatives have become very forgiving of such behavior. It goes both ways.

Their are some things Trump has done that I like , but if you are honest about it the guy lies his arse off. The day he faces a grand jury he will.

I'm not a liberal. The great power, great responsibility remark was supposed to be a joke about billionaires being expected to take advantage of being filthy rich. I guess I botched the delivery.

I voted for Trump and not just because he was running against Hillary Clinton although that was more than enough reason. I voted for him because he clearly felt the same way I did regarding the direction the country was headed.

Do I agree with everything he does on a personal level? No. Then again, I didn't vote for him to be a role model on domestic issues. I voted for him to make good on his campaign promises to fix this country. So far, I'm not sorry I did.

1. A rich guy got some strange.

2. A whore got plugged.

These 2 facts are newsworthy.

I now know that rich guys sometimes plug whores.

Political expediency is the only reason anybody would care. I don't even like Trump and I can admit that. She is Gennifer Flowers part 2 in the sense that she slept with a married man who would later become president.

News like this isn't worth getting upset over on either side of the aisle IMO. People will morally grandstand about this stuff when it suits their party, and then they will deflect whenever it happens within their own party. That's too much cognitive dissonance for me to handle so I'd rather not give a shite either way.

Do we know for a fact that he did it? Or is this all he said she said?

Ah, no. In the case of Bill Clinton, it’s ALWAYS been about lying under oath. Like most of your ilk, you’re just too disingenuous/intellectually lazy to admit it.
