TJ Miller was only funny because of the writing. I'm glad he thought the Emoji Movie was going to carry him because he's really not that funny at all. See any of his stand-ups as evidence

The Show will go on without TJ Miller.. Just atm its at the stage they are still writing him out slowly even though he already gone..

Was it intentional for Richard to look as bad as he did? He looked coked out.
Something was definitely off in this episode. It just didn't feel right.
I did like Richard destroying the Sliceline guy. That was badass. Then it was ruined when Richard couldn't complete a sentence in front of 50 people

Why did Richard have to keep all the developers after buying the two companies?
I know when he was trying to get the emoji company it was part of the deal, but that was because he didn't have leverage. He had all the leverage when dealing with Sliceline.

That was savage. The best part was the guys expression/reaction, he was just a genuinely nice guy and couldn't believe what Richard was doing to him

I did the math and it didn't add up. He had a total of 8M of VC funding.
He is losing $5 per order.
Richard ordered $19,000 worth of pizza. At $9 a pizza and 11% CA tax. You're looking at $16,910 worth of pizza. That's 1,878 pizzas.
1878 x (-$5) per order. That's a loss of $9,390 for Sliceline.
You're telling me a company with 50 engineers is put out of business by a $9K loss? The business model wasn't remotely sustainable but this is a little absurd.
So my idea is the guy saw a 9K loss and with Richard's threat, just folded the entire company? It's certainly TV.

This bothers me the most, Jian Yang is only funny when he is in a scene with Erlich

ETA: Also, it is pretty evident how this will end for Richard. He's going to run out of money and get bought out because he's going to keep over spending due to dumb, simple shite that could have been avoided. You can see how it is already being set up.
1. Over spending on the office space
2. Spending 19k on pizza
3. Over spending on 50 engineers
Just three in the first episode. He's going to frick this up badly

TJ Miller giving up Silicon Valley because he got the lead in “The Emoji Movie” might be the most Erlich Bachman act of all time. The guy may be a giant douche, but he was impeccably well cast.
he also said he wanted to spend more time in NYC where his wife works

Because in Socialist Republic of California they care about “their guys”. Laying people off would be too indicative of how the real world works.

WTF did slice line even do? At first I thought it was an app that basically compared pizza prices and you picked the cheapest. But they were just re-delivering dominos pizza?
